Not a fan of the latest update
By , for WP 4.4

I really liked Yoast before, but I don't like this latest version nearly as much. When you finally figure out you have to click on the current meta description to create a new one, it turns the field into a blank (which means it deletes the content that was there already). What if I'd just wanted to tweak the existing meta description a bit I've lost the ability to do that in this version. And now, I have to create a meta description separately and then copy and paste it in, which takes extra time. Not idea.

The plugin requires an alert to exclude the competitor "Sitemap XML Yoast"
By , for WP 4.3.1

Useful plugin but :

1) it always displays an alert that asks disable "Google XML Sitemaps" and replace with "XML Sitemap Yoast"
- Even if the alert is suppressed and that it disables Yoast option, it is always displayed.
- If you activate Yoast XML Sitemap, the Sitemap is not found in the Google tools
I do not like this way to exclude a competitor plugin

2) The new version 4.3.1 automatically updates the performance of SEO. It would be nice but it slows lot entering information.

Not bad, but I liked v2 much better

Looks like 3.0.5 fixed most of the issues. The only thing that is still annoying is meta details inline editor - there should be standard form fields for title, description, keyword fields. Right now, no one I asked knew how to edit these values. And if you have empty values, or when you start editing and delete any text, the fields have height=0 so it jumps and it's hard to click. I'll change my rating to 3, one point off for that inline editor, one point off for versions 3.0.0-3.0.4 - these should never exist.

UI/UX Needs Improvement
By , for WP 4.3.1

I've been using Yoast SEO for as long as I can remember. I've personally installed this plugin on over 100 custom themes without any complaints or issues. Prior to a site launch, it was a mandatory installation and my clients loved the ease and flexibility the plugin offered.

With this latest update I'm not sure what to think anymore - so many questions run through my head when I see the new design and UX of the plugin.

  1. How can a plugin with over 1,000,000 active installs release an update that breaks so many peoples websites?
  2. For what reason would an SEO plugin need this much power to take down hundreds of sites?
  3. How can a plugin with over 1,000,000 active installs release an update with such terrible UX and UI that users have no idea how to update their meta descriptions and titles. I've actually had clients call me thinking their sites were not working

I will continue to use the plugin (Version 2.3.5 ) with the hope that things will get straightened out sooner than later.

I wish you guys the best of luck with this sh** storm :)

It's Okay

New UX confusing
By , for WP 4.3.1

Just a quick question - where on earth has the Meta description field gone on posts? I can't find the ability to add the same kind of info anywhere.

Can't Disable Notifications
By , for WP 4.3.1

I recently updated and can't get rid of the "We've updated our SEO score algorithm...." message no matter how many times I try to recalculate it and it completes. I'm starting to get really sick of the notifications in this plugin. Like unnecessarily notifying people that the plugin is updated WHEN WordPress already let's you know when your plugin is updated.

If these notifications can be turned off, I'd be glad to push up my rating since I think it's an outstanding plugin otherwise.

(Partially) disapointed for 3.0.1 update
By , for WP 4.3.1

After reading this post, you can keep working with the plugin after this 3.0.1 update. However, there seem to be some issues with performance on Firefox, specially working with large pages or posts.

Yoast Changed
By , for WP 4.3.1

The latest update confused me because I did not know I could edit my meta description. Other than that, my social network description manager is gone. I don't know how I feel about that. My twitter cards started shrinking last week so we will see.
