Must have plugin for all wordpress users :)
I've used this plugin for over a year and previously found it very useful - had I reviewed it two months ago I would have given it five stars. Before then, when issues arose the support forum provided an answer and when no one could help, the developers updated with a fix within days.
However, recently my site has run into big problems and no one seems able or willing to help. Namely, the plugin now fails to recognise keyword placement in my posts ("they keyword does not appear in the first paragraph", "keyword usage is 0%"), making it very hard to get a 'green' light. After extensive research and calls for help over a two month period I have found no way of fixing the issue myself. For some users the issue appears to be ongoing dating back to at least September 2013. It's a bug, and it's a bug the developers appear unwilling to fix.
This is where the lack of support for free users comes in. I have considered paying for this plugin simply to get through to the developers, but then, why should I purchase a plugin because it's not working? Surely you purchase with confidence, and not a lack of it? When a large selection of free users report an issue, it would be prudent for developers to address it regardless of payment. I'm sure this is losing them customers. Very frustrating.
It makes SEO comfortable and easy. And I really appreciate the very polite wording of the notification texts - they really make it fun to work with the tool :)
This plugin takes the guesswork out of setting up SEO for your site. Allowing defining a unique title and excerpt for search engines is a much appreciated feature. Add to that automatic xml sitemaps and the ability to turn off sitemaps and indexing for sections that may be considered duplicate content or are for internal use only (like custom taxonomies). This plugin is a necessary companion for every self-hosted WordPress install.
I have learned more about SEO from implementing the functionality in this plugin then I could figure out from days of Google searching. It's easy to use and the help on the website is very good.
I had a little trouble with the site XML, but eventually figured it out with help from the Yoast site.
The only thing that was a little frustrating was when using the MyBookTable plugin, which has it's own SEO for individual books, which I had already filled in, and Yoast over wrote it. I'm not sure if it would have come back had I disabled this plugin, but I didn't bother because this plugin is much more extensive.
Just starting to use this SEO system but love the tutorials and the ease of setup.
This plugins works fine for my site, and tips are usefully to make a better site. Thanks a lot. A+++
"Premium Support".. The support is awful. Google XML Sitemap submitted my sitemap in 10 minutes. Yoast was error message (they blamed everyone but themselves) then told me it would take "2 weeks" to submit. Emails are answered with canned responses, if answered at all. The free version has some cool stuff, but everything in the pay version (redirects, for example- just get "simple redirect" plug in) are just as good or better.
Shame on you Yoast. And "local sep"? Really? 2 Weeks... nothing. I'm an attorney in a village with less than 10 attorneys and I didn't rank on ANY page with Yoast local seo. Save your money. Look elsewhere.
We've been using this for a while. What initially sold us was the company's extensive documentation about SEO in general, but what keeps us coming back is how easy it is to use the interface. It really cuts down on the time spent providing clients with good SEO results. We've learned not to expect "green lights" on all pages, because the client's ability to communicate content would be compromised, but it's good to know how Google rates the presentation and why.
good, simple and easy SEO configuration
