This is cut above the rest of the SEO plugins, but I feel the interface has taken a step back recently.
It has all the great features you will need to manage a lot of your onsite SEO, but the interface could do with some work. It used to be really simple and intuitive to use but a few recent updates have messed it up a bit.
Still a good plugin though.
I used to love this plugin, and have used it for years. Since version 3.x, however, things have gone downhill. The UI is totally messed up. The 'snippet editor' is one of the worst innovations I've ever come across in a plugin. The old 'meta description' was simple to edit and easy to understand.
The real-time analysis is a huge drain on resources, buggy (try using it on a long post - it will likely freeze your whole screen), and just unnecessary. A case of overengineering if there ever was one.
There is also no free support. None. So if you have a problem and aren't willing to upgrade to the expensive and frankly not worth it premium version, you're stuck. Yoast is apparently a multimullion dollar company. You're telling me then they can't hire a couple of people to offer free support? Another questionable management decision.
I am in the process of looking for an alternative to Yoast, one with less bloat and nags and a UI that makes sense. So far The SEO Framework looks like the best bet.
It's a shame, but after a decent run, it seems Yoast has lost its way.
For many years it was must have plugin but right now is a total garbage, it freezes site and admin panel. DEVELOPERS PLEASE WAKE UP!!!
I have used this plugin with two themes Kleo and Divi. It worked well with Kleo, great analysis of the content and images on the page. Quite happy with the compatibility.
However, it is not so compatible with Divi. The major issue was with alt tags of images. Hope they sort this issue soon.
Overall a great plugin
* Easy to access
* Online Documentation (video tutorials)
* Nice UI
* Real time analysis
The Yoast SEO Plugin makes life very easy for the inexperienced user - and seems to provide some opportunities for the more Advanced user. We believe we are getting good outcomes from using it - but would like to understand some of the features a little better.
The Plugin is probably worth 5 stars, but I've rated on my experience (or lack thereof)!
It surely does what it stands for, but you feel it when it's active !
Lots of options anyway, but if you need good SEO and less clutter, pass your way.
I have been a loving user of YOAST for a couple of years, and I have never had any big issues.
I love the idea of real time updates for SEO, and that is a nifty little feature.
The lastest update will not recognise my blog or page text. It keeps telling me my word count is 0 or 1, even though pages and posts have much greater word count.
I have tried installing the never BETA version, and that is only giving me a blue loading line where the report should appear.
I hope a new update will resolve the issues. As for now, this is actually hurting my business.
The definitive SEO plugin. Yoast keeps it up to date implementing any new feature Google suggests.
The latest 3.0x version of Yoast SEO is terrible. I hope they get this sorted out. In the Yoast SEO editor for the designated site homepage, it adds /example-post to the end of the URL, and there is no way to edit this.
There are many people having this issue, and I've had it across all sites running this version, with many different configurations.
I now have to roll back every site. Luckily I have a copy of older versions of this plugin.
AVOID THIS VERSION AT ALL COSTS. IT IS A HEADACHE.
Ben nog geen betere plugin tegengekomen.
