The best SEO plugin and it keeps improving.
By , for WP 4.3.1

I've been using Yoast SEO for several years now. It was the best back then and even though I didn't try the others ever since, I'm confident it still is.

Fact is, the plugin keeps improving. And not just silently. A few updates ago the interface changed a lot. I was actually impressed that the team had found the inspiration to make it better, easier, and to add a couple new awesome features.

The latest update... I had a problem with it too, initially, but a quick look at the support forum learned that I had to clear the cache. I cleared the browser cache, the W3T cache, the Cloudflare cache. And I'm not seeing anything malfunctioning now. In contrary. The updates rock again.

A lot has changed again and I love the changes. It could be that this will cause issues. The authors removed some backwards compatibility, with good reason. I for one am happy that they do not fear bad reviews and complaints to make improvements. That is what keeps this plugin ahead of its competitors.

Frankly, it is what keeps Google ahead as well. Someone stated here in the reviews:

These guys might be good at SEO but they have a thing or two to learn about doing business.

I don't agree at all. We can learn both SEO and how to do business from Yoast. And not just business that serves business. It is business that, among other, serves the realisation of great and ever improving open source.

It's not broken; let's fix it!
By , for WP 4.3.1

Looking at my original comment below I think I was a little too quick to jump on the "let's b*tch about it" bandwagon. I'm working with it on a newer site - yeah, I liked it better before - for now - but I can see this as being really good once I learn my way around the changes. I want to know more about the "multiple focus keywords" available in the premium version - that might just be the thing that makes me upgrade to premium.

It was a good plugin.
Many problems now, not to mention the BS way that they've introduced it. I'm running on on several sites, I looked at the premium version but didn't think the cost was justified, unlike the other premium plugins I use. I'm definitely looking at my other options.

3.01 makes pages unresponsive
By , for WP 4.3.1

Ok, so Yoast got updated automatically - and then my visual editors were all broken. Anyway, read the FAQ, and cleared my caches all around several times.

Anyway, so now I can edit again, except it's very unresponsive, especially on big posts. I have a post right now (18k words) and if i scroll through it will freeze, then go then freeze - I assume some JS running and sucking up resources?

Anyway, disabling Yoast and I can edit and move around nicely. Any advice?

Excellent plugin

I've updated to version 3.1. I did note a problem with the plugin but I did a CTRL F5 in Google Chrome 3 times and everything is back to normal.

Some of the issues I had were:
Pages/Posts were not loading correctly. This was fixed with the above refresh.

It was conflicting with my plugins Redirection and Wordfence. These were both fixed with the above refresh.

I like the new simplified seo section for the posts/pages.

Good job!

Version 3.0 & 3.01 not working when Wordfence Security is active
By ,

After updating to version3.0, Yoast SEO stopped working. After disabling wordfence security it started working. The window where the content, advanced and social icons is blank, However the icons when clicked causes a change respectively in the address bar - =edit#wpseo-meta-section-content, =edit#wpseo-meta-section-advanced, =edit#wpseo-meta-section-social. The Yoast general settings etc, etc is accessible.

Even version 3.01 cannot co-exist with wordfence security (wordfence security verion used : 6.0.20) The previous version of Yoast SEO didnot have any compatibilty issues with Wordfence security plugin. Wordfence security works fine without any issues. I am still rating it 5 since it worked fine until this update.

The Ultimate Plug-in

It`s very good.

Good Plugin, But Too Much.
By , for WP 4.3.1

This plugin is no doubt one of the most popular WordPress plugins and for good reason. I've used it on a tonne of personal and business websites like [Link redacted] and [Link redacted]. I use it on almost every one of my client's website as well.

It's best features IMO are:

  • Color coded indicators for individual post and page SEO
  • Meta descriptions
  • Keyword density and placement check

The reason I gave this plugin only four stars is because it tries to do too much. For example I've had other sitemap plugins installed before, then want some of Yoast SEO's features. Suddenly I have two sitemaps, have to delete the other sitemap plugin, then resubmit the new sitemap to Google and Bing. Features like this may be better as an add-on.

Overall though this is a great plugin and is a must use plugin for almost any site.
