WPMU domain mapping perfectly working
By , for WP 4.1.1

On a new multisite WordPress 4.1.1, WPMU domain mapping is perfectly working.

Great, but sent me on a wild goose chase!

Plugin works great, but instructions need an update as in the latest versions of Plesk it's very easy to set the default domain of the IP address in: Tools & Settings > Tools & Resources > IP Addresses > { The IP in Question }

Works great!

Works great, thanks!

The one gotcha for me was to check the "Primary" box to enable domain masking. It would have been nice to have some explanation of what that check box meant. But, I found the answer by Googling.

BOTTOM LINE: If you are using WordPress multisite you should be using this plugin, there is almost no excuse not to. The pros on this plugins GREATLY outweigh the cons and this should be in the toolbox of every WordPress multisite developer.

- Have a WordPress Multisite network that simultaneously supports sub-domain and sub-directory multisites.
- Able to assign multiple sub-domains to the same site.
- Able to select a default sub-domain or site URL (for each of the multisite sites) and all other assigned sub-domains for that site will redirect to the default

- Takes a little setup work compared to most other plugins
- Requires access to and working knowledge of your DNS server (local and/or external)
- Requires some FTP access to move some files
- Requires some editing to the wp-config.php file
- See note below on problem with misspellings with Google Chrome and the Omnisearch bar

The only downside is that depending on how your local internal DNS is setup it could cause you to send a lot of queries to the server running this plugin. This really only occurs if you are using Google Chrome or a similar variant and if you use the Omnisearch bar. Otherwise you should have any problems.

works, but domain subsite not listed as

Hi, great usefull plugin.

This is rather an advanced user plugin with need to full access on both hosting, or at least ftp, and full access on the control panel of your domain name host.

The subsite I setted up with this plugin isn't listed under 'My sites' when in the parent site.
Is this normal? A bit confusing as it is not listing there.

My best, kristof

This killed my homepage

Changing the wp-config.php as described completely killed the our website. It couldn't even brought back by deleting the changes. I do not know what happened, but only by using and reinstalling a backup I could save our web presence. I will keep my fingers from this plugin from now on. Be sure you have an actual backup before you use this plugin.

Essential for sane multi-site multi-domain operations

Should have been part of the core a long time ago. Still should be part of the core.

No longer being developed
By , for WP 4.1.1

This needs patches to stop it from triggering errors. No longer developed as far as I can see.

Find the latest version (which is not this one!)

Additionally I have a spurious redirect loop happing on two of my domains. Switching to Mercator by humanmade fixed it, although that plugin currently immature and has issues of its own.
