really slow
By ,

This plugin is so slow... need updates and fixes so bad.

Unable to import files
By , for WP 4.5

Importing files from media library is not working. It was several small files! Crappy.

Slow and buggy
By , for WP 4.4.2

Deprecated: Methods with the same name as their class will not be constructors in a future version of PHP; WP_Import has a deprecated constructor in C:\Users\tan\Desktop\wp.dev\wp-content\plugins\wordpress-importer\wordpress-importer.php on line 38

Not Great
By ,

It really always runs in to some kind of problem, which is too bad, considering it's put out by the wordpress.org team.

never work as expected.

never done with - import/export attachments,

Didn't work for php 5.6
By , for WP 4.3.1

Tried several times in WP running on php 5.6 to run this on the simple import of WooCommerce sample data and this plugin failed miserably with a 404 every time and on going back in the browser got a message that nothing had worked.

Switched down to php 5.4 and it finally appeared to work, but got error messages about product images already existing from the previous 404 failures.

Not a good experience! Far from "Having Fun" as the final message implies and same error-log entries that others have mentioned (for ages) on line 38.

Timeout, re-upload, timeout, re-upload, repeat
By , for WP 4.3

If you're on pretty much any shared hosting and you want to transfer more than 100mb of images, you're not going to have much fun with this plugin.

Should be better considering it's WordPress.org product
By , for WP 4.2.2

Title is TL;DR version.

Longer version:
Please, please, please W.org guys - fix this useful and very wanted plugin - there are constant error notices (with WP_DEBUG on), cannot import certain custom meta - most important nav_menu_item custom meta, radio choice instead checkboxes when selecting what to export, timeout errors ...

Considering this is W.org plugin all mentioned above is outrageous. Especially considering WP strict coding and philosophy standards. Come on guys, I KNOW you can do better. Why don't you ?

Works for tiny sites only
By , for WP 4.1.1

When you have a tiny site with a handful of single posts, it might work.

When you have a more professional site with hundreds or even thousands of posts, woocommerce products, etc., this tool is not going to work.

it's very simple

- It tries to import everything in one run, which leads to timeouts.
- After a timeout, you cannot continue. It doesn't continue where it stoppped.
- It doesn't tell you what was imported IF a tiny import goes well. No status messages.
- It cannot import woocommerce product variations.

For us this tool is not the right choice.

I'm still looking for a professional solution that can help us actually export and import thousands of posts and Woocommerce products with variations. Something that does not timeout. Maybe something that can be installed locally and connect directly to the database.

Anyone knows such software? Please let me know.

Stuck in step 2
By , for WP 4.1

I'm stuck at step 2, blank page appears. I've used this plugin before and worked really well, not now. I've read that there're problems with WP version 4.1.
