Import posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, tags and more from a WordPress export file.
I just moved my site to self-hosted and when I attempted to import the XML file from my site, I get an error that the file is empty, which it isn't. It's about 14 kb according to my computer. I've tried breaking it into smaller pieces and it still will not work.
worst plugin ever !!!
These errors show up when I activate the importer plugin and go to Tools > Import.

Unfortunately its literally not working with 4.1.
Often have problems with menu import - sometimes it goes fine and sometimes not.
Do not import the reading home and blog pages too. Would be nice to add this feature.
Its sad that such a widely used plugin does not get enough attention.
This gotta be the worst plugin ever, a simple import and export and it just dont work.
Who ever coded this should be fired, the file is only 23 mb and it cant even handle that.
The solution for me was to split the xml file into files of 300kb chunks and then import then 1 by 1.
That is the only way this piece of crapp will work
Don't waste your time with this plugin, instead go the backup buddy route. Too many problems with this plugin and as others have mentioned it won't move your media.
Attempted to use this plugin twice on two completely separate and clean WP installs. Both failed; one - with over 400 CPTs - failed to import featured images (was up until 4am fixing that one) and the other just failed to import anything with a 403 error - I didn't have permission to access wp-admin/admin.php, apparently. Beware!
Not only does this plugin not import images, but any post with an assigned Featured Image is mapped incorrectly.
i lost future image in the new site
Maybe it's the XML wordpress exports, or maybe it's this import plugin, but migrating a blog from one host to another shouldn't hurt this bad.
This simply can not handle attachments. Try the wordpress attachment importer for that.
