Import posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, tags and more from a WordPress export file.
Please fire whoever coded this absolute rubbish. I almost couldn't bring myself to post this review as there is no option for zero stars. Thanks for wasting hours of my time. Why the hell would this feature need a plugin anyway?
It seems like every time I've used this, I've encountered a different issue. Users not being imported, media being left behind, the import file being too large, having to split it into multiple chunks. I've spent so much time googling and troubleshooting failed imports, and it seems there are just too many variables differing from server to server that prevent this from being useful. I've just given up and do everything with FTP and MYSQL now.
Duplicates pages, content, custom menus, etc. every time you click import file.
WordPress needs to step it up and update.
All this plug-in does: hanging. It doesn't import anything, it just hangs. I stared at my screen for 15 minutes, hoping for something to start living, but no. Too bad we're stuck with a poorly working standard plug-in. Makes me want to switch CMS..
Worst plugin ever. It's not compatible with the current version. Couldn't import my original blog smoothly, bugs and errors everywhere. Sadly, there's no alternative to this plugin. Come on wordpress, you can do better than this.
This plugin is total crap. It constantly imports duplicates of all my media, screws up the file names, screws up posts, and creates more work than it saves.
This plugin is broken. Does not import wordpress XML correctly. Posts, Comments, and Images are imported multiple times and it messes up the database.
It looks like my posts are on the back end. I can click on them and see the post with the url. But when I click on the URL in the backend or on the front-end I get a 404. Very strange. Not even sure where to start here.
This plugin cannot work with the pages that already existed. Even if I delete the pages, it looks for the meta data for pages and avoid importing pages that I deleted manually. Also, no option for enforcing deletion of old pages.
I just moved my site to self-hosted and when I attempted to import the XML file from my site, I get an error that the file is empty, which it isn't. It's about 14 kb according to my computer. I've tried breaking it into smaller pieces and it still will not work.
