Thank you!

Did exactly what I needed
By , for WP 4.2.2

This plugin did exactly what I needed it to do.

I was creating a new version of my site and I needed to import about thirty posts and thirty images.

Thanks for making the handy plugin.

A very good plugin, I use it for long time.

Should be better considering it's WordPress.org product

Title is TL;DR version.

Longer version:
Please, please, please W.org guys - fix this useful and very wanted plugin - there are constant error notices (with WP_DEBUG on), cannot import certain custom meta - most important nav_menu_item custom meta, radio choice instead checkboxes when selecting what to export, timeout errors ...

Considering this is W.org plugin all mentioned above is outrageous. Especially considering WP strict coding and philosophy standards. Come on guys, I KNOW you can do better. Why don't you ?

Designed for hanging

All this plug-in does: hanging. It doesn't import anything, it just hangs. I stared at my screen for 15 minutes, hoping for something to start living, but no. Too bad we're stuck with a poorly working standard plug-in. Makes me want to switch CMS..

I wish I can give it a 0 star rating

Worst plugin ever. It's not compatible with the current version. Couldn't import my original blog smoothly, bugs and errors everywhere. Sadly, there's no alternative to this plugin. Come on wordpress, you can do better than this.

Works when importing .xml to local computer
By , for WP 4.2.2

I note the importer says "Choose a file from your computer: (Maximum size: 2 MB)". My .xml file (created from a wordpress.com blog) was 545 kiloBytes, so maybe that's why it worked for me.

My blog has 111 posts each with a fairly large image. Using theme Duotone.

I notice that many people say that they end up with the images displayed being still the ones on their original wordpress site. Not in my case. All the images arrived at my local computer and by looking at the web page's html source I can see that the local files are being accessed.

It will be interesting to see if it is equally easy uploading to a remote computer.

Works as expected. Easy to use. Thank you WordPress.org team.

Perfect import when you use prebuilt themes
By , for WP 4.2.2

This is the perfect plugin to when you need to import demo data for a pre-built theme, never needed to use it for any other reason.
