It works as expected.

This plugin is total crap. It constantly imports duplicates of all my media, screws up the file names, screws up posts, and creates more work than it saves.

Should be 6 of 5 stars - what is needed is provided best way

Plugin is working 100% for me all the time - localhost and different hosting providers.

One of the classic Plugins to get you going
By , for WP 4.1.1

Always among one of the first Plugins I install, used most recently on http://betterblogging.info/ and lots of my other installs, the WP importer really gets you going in no time -- without fuss or hassle. Never had any issues with it, so duplicate imports or broken database troubles as mentioned in other reviews must have some different reason.

Great one!

This Plugin is Broken
By , for WP 4.1.1

This plugin is broken. Does not import wordpress XML correctly. Posts, Comments, and Images are imported multiple times and it messes up the database.

Core plugin for any dev

First plugin to be installed on any dev env.

Posts show up in a list and on backend, but cannot click on them
By , for WP 4.1.1

It looks like my posts are on the back end. I can click on them and see the post with the url. But when I click on the URL in the backend or on the front-end I get a 404. Very strange. Not even sure where to start here.

Rarely imports images
By , for WP 4.1.1

I was wondering if perhaps someone would be willing to help you maintain this plugin....it doesn't import images most of the time. I know it's a lot of work keeping a free plugin up to date.

A useless buggy plugin
By ,

This plugin cannot work with the pages that already existed. Even if I delete the pages, it looks for the meta data for pages and avoid importing pages that I deleted manually. Also, no option for enforcing deletion of old pages.

Works for tiny sites only
By , for WP 4.1.1

When you have a tiny site with a handful of single posts, it might work.

When you have a more professional site with hundreds or even thousands of posts, woocommerce products, etc., this tool is not going to work.

it's very simple

- It tries to import everything in one run, which leads to timeouts.
- After a timeout, you cannot continue. It doesn't continue where it stoppped.
- It doesn't tell you what was imported IF a tiny import goes well. No status messages.
- It cannot import woocommerce product variations.

For us this tool is not the right choice.

I'm still looking for a professional solution that can help us actually export and import thousands of posts and Woocommerce products with variations. Something that does not timeout. Maybe something that can be installed locally and connect directly to the database.

Anyone knows such software? Please let me know.
