WPB2D is a great utility: It's simple and it works. Having an automated backup really gives you a nice peace of mind. Would have rated it five stars, but it doesn't run under PHP 7.0. If you are running PHP 5.6 or older, you'll be fine.
Very good plugin. Does what it says. It backups my WordPress and dbfiles when installed on my first website, however, it does not work on the second website. I don't know if it's a server issue or on the plugin itself.
I like the fact that I can easily exclude cache and other folders that don't need to be backed up. Also, it doesn't require MySQLi extension in PHP to work.
Looks easy enough that I can get my clients to do their own backups.
Now it just needs to add an "ad-hoc" Backup button for the DashBoard instead of forcing scheduled backups and it would be rather perfect.
(Another good feature would be to create a LOCAL backup onto a folder on the web server itself, just in case anything goes wrong with a version update of WP or plug-ins. No need to copy it all over the net into DropBox. Ideally tie it to the "Update" feature so that backups are taken automatically)
Very simple plugin but useful !!
When I clicked the "authorize" button, I was transferred to my Dropbox account and there was a message at the top in a red box that said, "The request to link the app is invalid." I uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled it and then it worked. No idea why.
Though first time running it take me more than ten hours, the latest backup only takes me about 40 minutes!
Easy to set up and works perfectly.
Works great on LAMP sites. I had a problem on a Windows hosted site, but hear that is fixed now...don't know because I moved that site to LAMP for other reasons.
Backup's seem quick and non-disruptive, I have not needed a restore, so I withhold a 5th star. Considering what it is doing behind the scenes, I am very pleased with its easy of use and realiability. It is a great way to have that extra protection. I have two sites running it into my free dropbox space...with plenty more space available.
I got the zipped premium and it works well. I had to tweak some things (enabling zip on Media Temple, adjusting my php.ini to accept larger files on post), but after some trial and error it seems to be working very nicely. Integration with Dropbox is nice.
