Wordfence Security is a free enterprise class security and performance plugin that makes your site up to 50 times faster and more secure.
Since installing WF I haven't had any more problems. This plugin works hard at keeping my sites safe, and the WF team really are on the ball. I posted a query and received a response almost immediately. I highly recommend it!
Each time I try to update plugin I get this
"Could not copy file. wordfence/images/loading.gif" Otherwise brilliant plugin. Any thoughts, anyone?
I've been using Wordfence for a while and I was so enthusiastic I wrote an ebook in Italian about it (together with my other favourite security plugin which I won't mention here of course). It's scanning functionalities and caching options are fantastic, it's going to be one of the 'must have' plugins in every WP installation I'll create.
Just a glitch, for non-English WP users, will be the security warns about file change when updating WordPress or some plugins, as the strings in the Italian version of the code are different from the 'international' ones, i.e. original English language ones.
After looking for the right, best, most compatible security plug-in, this is the one. Goes GREAT with Sucuri Security plugin as a strong duo!
Fast, reliable and well designed.
Cannot live without this little gem. Site is performing excellently and I can monitor everything!
Easy to use even to a newbie discovering WordPress security issues. My web host turned me on to WordFence after I asked why are they kicking me off their hosting in 24 hours. They told me because of constant extreme high memory useage. Lucky my webhost worked with me. I installed WordFence and I discovered I was under brute force attacks and crazed hackers shooting up my memory use. After installing WordFence and setting the simple to understand options, my website memory usage quickly got under control and my host was happy to keep hosting me.
Great plugin, keeps my site safe and sequre.
Thank you developers.
I just installed Wordfence. It works great. They keep copies of all of the themes, plugins and core WordPress files, listed on WordPress.org, on their servers so that Wordfence can detect code differences between the original code and what resides on your website. After a scan of your website, Wordfence provides a listing of each problem it finds and provides a link to see the color coded differences. You can then determine whether Wordfence should ignore the problem during the next scan or replace the bad code with clean code. I believe there are some other options too. If your website gets hacked Wordfence could speed up recovery because you would not need to restore the whole website, just replace the bad code, assuming you keep up with all of the updates to WordPress core, themes and plugins.
So far, Wordfence seems to be doing a great job of monitoring my website.
Additionally, I posted a question on the forum and they went above and beyond to help me. Thank you.
Tried everything the form and support links said to do and then some but it still doesn't work. This issue is over a year old too! I guess if you have Litespeed, save some time and find another security plugin.
