Instead of using
SKU + Sale Price + All admin strings
from file woocommerce-admin-
Like it was before
At this version it's using the woocommerce-xx-XX.mo file
Thank you for this perfect plugin. I just hope you can add more options to the E-Mail templates.
I run a few commerce stores that get very heavy traffic 24/7 due to international appeal. As of recent it has become a game to try guess what exactly will break upon updating this plugin. And then the work it takes to find a solution that you can garentee works with the live website is unreal.
Particularly with this new 2.5.2 as well as the previous 2 updates, I have experienced 360s which made attempting to keep things fully compatible an absolute stress. Whatever you do, wait until they fix all the mistakes (which they do make every update) before installing.
I love what WooCommerce has done for business online, but please make my life easier with better tested updates haha.
In best traditions of wordpress...
If U want some better then 'standard' - U have write it Yourself...
But, standard is not so bad :-))) Sometimes it's good.
It is a great plugin
I have made few projects using woocommerce and it just works....
I want to stick to wordpress for various reasons so I obviously want to use woocommerce but ...
----- You cant have checkbox selections in products... (Seriously?)
I mean... a shopping cart without checkbox product options? In 2016? How? There isnt even an addon that does it right. Try to make an item that has 5 primary options, 10 optional addons with options on each (for example, pizza size plus toppings which can go on left, right or whole pizza). Good luck. Woocommerce cant do it properly (you can do some workarounds but they fail when you consider UX). In fact, there isnt even a plugin that can do it. Not the popular product addons plugin, not the swiss knife stuff, nothing... it just cant do it right now. This is not something that should need custom programming in 2016. It should be part of the core variable product system. Almost every shopping cart I used from as far back as the late 90s when ASP was popular, had this basic feature.
-- Updates seem to break a lot of plugins.
You can turn them off, but I want security updates... this means you need a test system and you have to keep track and manage the updates actively... its just not worth it if you use a lot of plugins.
------- Lack of support for plugins.
This may not be woocommerce's fault, buy it is a byproduct of its environment. Look at the forum for even their most popular plugins like the product addons... almost no support at all for months at a time on that one. There are posts in there 9 months old without any support. Another popular one is the swiss knife which also has no support either.
- It seems that no one is working on making plugins for it any more.
At least, nothing meaningful. Most of the new stuff is just basic customization for people who cant code at all.
I would love to stick with wordpress and woocommerce, but it needs some quality control with its plugins and the aforementioned checkbox selection options.
