Replaces many of the default widgets with versions that allow much more control. Widgets come with highly customizable control panels.
I like the plugin very much. Thank you mate :)
Does what it is supposed to. Removes so many headaches with the default widgets.
Great work Justin. Thanks.
A warning for people who use Link Manager. This plugin will see that widget disappear from your available widgets and worse, will delete all your previously created blogroll links. Deactivate this plugin and they're still gone. Installing this plugin has costs me hours of extra work. There is no warning anywhere that this would happen.
While I like the idea of this plugin, I think it's wholly wrong to put forward a plugin that can do so much damage without comprehensive notes to warn people appropriately.
The best I can do with code is just trial and error. I spent the last few hours trying to find a way to hide a category from a widget, editing different php files.
Finally I found this plugin. This is a great plugin. It works great. I really want to thank the author.
I was trying to figure out how I was going to remove a category without have to use coding when I stumbled onto this plugin. It works like a charm!
I've been using Widgets Reloaded as a plugin separate from Theme Hybrid (where the plugin originated from) as an add-on for my own WordPress sites for years now.
The plugin offers all the extra options and flexibility to my widgets that I would have loved to have had with my original widgets.
From all the Tag display options to all the Category and Archives and whatever else display options, instead of having to get a bunch of different custom widgets to display what I want, I can get them all in one plugin package and then use my own CSS to style accordingly.
Up until the recent 2.5 release, I had never once had a problem with the widget either during general use or after a WordPress upgrade and to me, this is proof of both the plugin's stability and compatibility with WordPress core code.
That said, when 2.5 came and with it, changes to ultimately make the plugin better able to transition with future WordPress and Theme Hybrid releases, there was a situation where previous settings got wiped and this has been my one and only personal example of where the plugin 'broke' or behaved in an unexpected manner.
However, Justin was quick to professionally and thoroughly address the various issues (including apologizing for the 'breaking' of settings and addressing the necessity of having to reset settings and the necessity of certain changes) brought up in the Support forum and because of this, I am very confident that in the future, I can continue to look forward to stable releases for a plugin that I have long since considered an essential part of my 'extending WordPress' toolbox.
Thank you, Justin, for both this awesome plugin and your timeliness in providing support and answering and addressing questions!
