Widget Logic lets you control on which pages widgets appear using WP's conditional tags. It also adds a 'widget_content' filter.
Widget Logic is very powerful, although a little complicated. However if you also install Widget Logic by Path it becomes very simple to use.
Widget Logic es un gran plugin que te permite personalizar la localización de los widgets de WordPress. Cumple su trabajo de gran manera. Simplemente funciona.
Really effective, I use it on all my builds.
I would love to be able to use both Widget Logic & Widget Logic by Path together, that would be something extra special!
for websites using the Buddypress plugin, also see
for Buddypress specific conditional tags to use with this plugin.
Keep up the good work and thanks for making my life that bit easier =)
note: It might be worth adding a link to the Buddypress tags in the FAQ / Notes.
This plugin saved me a few coding hours when I needed some widgets on specific pages on a site.
The only thing I can think of to make this plugin better would be to maybe offer a check box type option where a less experienced user can simply click a box next to the posts pages, categories, etc. that they want the widget to show up on. Might be a little cumbersome if there are a lot of pages on a site, but maybe put them in a collapsible menu organized by posts, pages, categories, etc.
Still a 5 star regardless of the wish list :-)
I say 'just' but the fact is this plugin has been around for a while, and for good reason. It makes widget management so much easier than dicking around with includes and calls to alternative sidebars.
Extremely useful, not to be under-estimated.
kneel before her.
Thanks for this great tool. I like that it has helped me to learn conditionals. :-)
Superb since day one.
