What The File adds an option to your toolbar showing what file and template parts are used to display the page you’re currently viewing.
So simple, but so incredibly helpful during theme development.
Great theme for the beginner, lots of easy to understand options!
This is a great plugin - saves me so much time and headache! I was previously using the Debug bar plugin - but it requires editing of config files and access to a client's FTP - too much hassle. This works straight out of the box.
I started to use this plugin (Whats the File) just recently. I'm a novice to wordpress with [ link redacted, please do not post links in reviews ]> being the first wordpress site that I went live online with. Being a such a novice, when I went looking for a theme I picked and fell in love with one but didn't realize at the time there was no support for the theme (Foodiet) and the author's web link is being used for something entirely different.
I needed something to help me work on the theme and ran across this plugin (Whats the file). It really has helped me identify the file I either need to fix or alter for my expanding needs/ideas. Until I can find something else I'm stuck with this theme. Thank you Barry Kooij for a very useful plugin.
Antes de conocer este plugin me volvía loco buscando los archivos de cada página en los temas que compraba y no eran míos. Ahora en un tis, ya sé cuál es.
I find it to work great, a useful insight to which files are being used to generate a page in WordPress. A great job by the author, thanks!
A must have, especially if you want to understand Woocommerce themes schemas.
Found myself strugglin' with a child theme and didn't know which file from the parent theme was bugging me. Installed Barry's gem et voila, now I know.
Big up Barry!
Incredibly useful and an essential tool for any WordPress developer.
