This plug in has everything you need to manage projects accept a front end. I know that will be coming.
This plugin has potential... It is the best plugin for one of my sites, but not all of them.
Several improvements could benefit the project:
Though this plugin does look and feel similar to BaseCamp, there is a difference. BaseCamp is an external system. And if a development team wants to have one location to develop - keeping project notes inside the project, then this is a great solution. BaseCamp cannot do that. So, I disagree with other reviewers that this is "morally" bad software for just coping a paid service...
That said, I find that the above two issues along with some of the infrastructure issues
(how taxonomies and Custom Post types are used and presented to other taxonomy plugins) as mentioned by tavolucas above are why I give this plugin 3 stars... fix those issues and I will change my rating.
It's my plugin and I built it with care, what are you thinking?
I was excited to try it out, but I can't get past the New Project (+) button. It leads to this URL and nothing happens:
Using WP 3.4.2 on a Mac OS X Lion with Firefox and Chrome
I think a great job this plugin, and that is also free is amazing. But they need to improve some problems. After installing the plugin it worked fine but all other features of wordpress were affected: I could see the list of posts (blank page) and the entire system became slightly slower.
There is also a conflict with the plugin "simple local gravatar" http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-local-avatars/screenshots/ that disables the ability to edit "projects" or "to do"
This duplicates, in many instances, Basecamp's look and functionality. The team at 37signals has worked hard to develop their product. While I support open source software and love WordPress, I do not condone stealing someone's hard work and giving it away for free. That's not the spirit of open source, that's not the spirit of WordPress, and it's just not cool. If you want to make a positive contribution to the community, don't just copy Basecamp — come up with something different and allow it to grow naturally through open source.
BaseCamp Cost me 20$/m and it's Free!!
Working like a champ !
