I use this on a couple sites, usually it's great. However, there is not much documentation on what to do when something goes wrong. Example: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-w3-total-cache-default-settings-are-in-use?replies=1
It won't let me start using it unless I leave a rating.
Mr. Townes, firstly, W3 Total Cache is excellent. However, the new popup (http://postimg.org/image/8naoxhqhn/) requesting that we link/tweet/review is incredibly annoying/disturbing/infuriating. I filled-in the option to join the mailing list thinking the popup would disappear. Nope. Will it go away if I submit this review? Not sure yet. In any case, it's very heavy-handed and I think it will result in a backlash against the plugin. It certainly doesn't encourage me to place a link on my sites, or tweet, etc. I'm happy to PAY for the plugin, but I don't want to fight this popup over and over and over . . . with EVERY setting change. Insane. Please fine another way to do whatever it is your trying to accomplish. Who's with me on this? Contact Frederick Townes. Thank you!
Yup, I tweeted about this plugin twice, newsletter, followed on twitter, and now I'm ranking them here, all just trying to get rid of the popup in my dashboard. Otherwise I would have ranked this plugin a 5. Extremely functional... super desperate.
I dislike being asked for my support with an obtrusive dialog.
Good caching plugin
Caching is always a tricky thing. We have it integrated with MaxCDN and Cloudflare but it doesn't always seem to work seamlessly through the WordPress Dashboard. Also, I don't like the little link that appears at the bottom of the site. I deselected that option and it was gone for a while then reappeared again.
30 day extortion pop up withstanding, pretty good plugin.
Seemed to work fine for awhile, but after upgrades I can't get the cache to clear and I can't get out of a pop up window that appears in the community edition when I try to change settings...the pop up window that says rate us. Well, they asked for it so hear it is.
I should say that the page is appearing fine, but there's big cache files on the server that won't clear. Manual deletion seems a bit drastic for a plug in that says clear cache all over it.
To clear the cache i had to do it from within the plugin settings. The clearing cache from the admin bar did nothing.
