tried to use this plugin but unfortunately the message popup screen is a real issue that needs to be addressed. causes screen to hang and have to reload plugin to try and setup, in the end opted for a less annoying cache plugin.
Gets a Google pagespeed score of 100 no problem - but hardly any good if the score is due to a 500 error message.
Used to use this all the time, and thought I'd give it another go, but the error that initially made me go elsewhere is still there.
After a mammoth setup session, I'm not really interested in going through error docs and editing .htaccess files to make it work - may as well place the code in there myself in the first place without using a plugin.
Pity, as this used to be a decent plugin!
This was good for 4months, but then it started creating errors which caused google to remove my site from search results.
I deleted this plugin and 24hrs later my google results had returned.
Used to work brilliantly but now the pop-up demanding that I rate this plugin has taken over my dashboard and I can't get rid of it. Would have been 4 or 5 stars, but this behavior makes it utterly useless and it's wasting loads of my time - fail!
Endless repeating pop-up from this plugin when you access it's interface. What's next, locking access to your server unless you give a rating?
I have been battling with disabling the 'opt-in' pop up for hours now. With all of the extra config we need to do, this has made things very painful indeed
No easy way to deactivate the pesky footer. I'm trying to remove it, I already lost half an hour. I'm thinking to uninstall it.
t buy premium! You wont get satisfied. Even you do not get any answer from support. They only take your money!
I bought it because promise of more speed. Now I cannot use it because lisenze does not work. Since then I tried to get answer from support. But nobody did answer. So I think they are frauds only taking money. If you google it you get the same result.
By and large this plugin tends to work on older php versions and older server configs, though with each core or PHP update it becomes more fraught with issues. I have spent many hours troubleshooting issues that end up being due to this plugin. After about 5 years of using this plugin on a number of sites, I've moved on to alternatives. There are a number of simple caching plugins but they all lack the level of control of W3.
Update: After some investigation, it turns out this plugin has not received a meaningful update since August 2014. All the updates since then were simply updates to the readme file. Time to move on.
This plugin created about 1 million+ (1.000.000+) folders and files under the cache folder. This is absurd! It will take more than 1 day to delete so many files!
