Professional

A very professional plugin with many functions!

Complicated but works
By , for WP 4.2.2

Requires a lot of research to get it working correctly. Which I still haven't managed.

W3TC is no longer supported
By , for WP 4.2.2

I paid $100 for support two weeks ago. W3TC will not answer the phone, will not return phone calls, will not respond to email, and will not respond to support tickets. The least they can do is remove the paid support option from the plugin.

Great optimizer

This thing is much better than other optimizers I've tried.

With it turned on, my web page responds about 10X faster.

Thank you.

Very good at speeding things up

Works great, event the free features can't be done without!
Great job!

Plugin cannot handle simple permissions issues - This is BASIC
By , for WP 4.1

I tried configuring this plugin, knowing I have an apache permission issue on the server. I cannot tell how many people have this, but seems to be a general webhosting issue, where there is a webserver account (in my case named apache) and a FTP user account, and with default permissions one of the has insufficient rights.

In this case, my FTP account is owner of most files and the plugin is unable to write to these files.

I solved this my having my webhoster move my sites to a server with "mod_ruid2"-functionality.

Anyway, I had 3 sites for years with this stupid issue which was caused by the design of this apache stuff.

You should be aware of this super-general situation??? Do you guys ever had a site running at webhoster? Maybe you should start then?

Before installing your plugin should do a check like this:

Check write permission on the files/folders YOU will modify:

./your-blog-dir/public_html/wp-content/ (folder)
./your-blog-dir/public_html/wp-content/wt3 (folder)
./your-blog-dir/public_html/wp-content/w3-total-cache-config.php (all your configs)
./your-blog-dir/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache (plugin folder)
./your-blog-dir/public_html/wp-content/.htaccess
./your-blog-dir/public_html/wpconfig.php
etc...

IF NOTOK, dont even activate the plugin because you will most likely break the site, and uninstalls will fail as well.

A lot of plugins do this for years already.

So Im stuck with "W3 Total Cache: Default settings are in use. The configuration file could not be read or doesn't exist. Please save the settings to create the file."

I will have the website be moved to ensure the webserver runs under my FTP account. I assume then this plugin will work.

But do yourself a favor and focus on the basic part of your plugin, you are breaking many sites, which can simply be prevented imo. You are loosing money because of this...

I need more time...

Noticeable improvement in site load time.

Great plugin that helps load times for my site.

Would be super great if the CDN updates could be automated, but that's a minor thing.

Need a developer

I had my developer install this for me, and experience amazing improvement. It needs a techie to understand it.
