W3 Total Cache is the best caching plugin

I am putting my review after such a long time. I got this installed after removing WP Super Cache plugin. WPSC was good but at times one needs to look for more versatile plugin to manage as per your needs. That's how W3TC came into action.

I am a designer and I write design articles on my site. Most of my articles are full of images, which are combination of both photography and digital design assets. When I tested my first blog in late 2012 via GT Metrix and Pingdom Tools, my overall score was quite low though I was using WP Super Cache with Twenty Eleven Theme by that time. WP Super Cache is a good plugin if you are new to WordPress.

After going through a series of articles (WPBeginner, ShoutMeLoud & WPExplorer) I thought of giving W3TC a try for sure. It took me almost an hour to setup (as others say), but the best part about this plugin is that it rocks once it's perfectly done.

The secret section inside W3TC is lying under the minify settings where you can control what and how to load your major scripts such as javascript or css. The CDN is another feature that takes care of your static resources.

Advice for newbies: Please read the FAQs section and steps, guides and UNDERSTAND what your are doing, because just toggling on/of won't make your site a JetSite. Always take backups before doing any such experiments.

If you face any trouble using the xml sitemaps after using W3TC, you can fix this issue as Yoast suggests + use the 2nd tips as listed below
Exclude main-sitemap\.xsl (as sitemaps.org handles your Sitemaps) in the minify settings under W3 Total Cache as that file controls Yoast's Sitemaps. People always make mistakes by just excluding the sitemap_index.xml and it never works. It took me 2-3 days of time just figure this out, but it worked in the end.

I love W3TC and guess what! Thanks for the excellent plugin.

Use on many sites - works great

One of the first plugins I use on every site. The page caching alone is worth it. It speeds up sites!
