It worked with basic groups for pages, but not on posts. When it didn't work with posts, I already knew it wasn't going to work with custom post types. Kinda deal breaker for me. For not updating in 2 years, I'm really surprised it still works with WP. It has a good design with simple interface. Has good room for improvement.
I was looking for a simple plug-in to restrict the visibility of posts/pages to only certain categories of users.
This free plug-in does that perfectly and it is easy to set up.
The only drawback - and explains the 4-star rating - is that there is no bulk mechanism to assign existing users to one of the category created with UAM. This has to be done manually which may be a real drawback if you have hundred of existing users (less than 100 in my case)
this plugin has given me exactly what I want. But can you make non-access post invisible in recently post, recently comment widget, too?
I really like how it hides pages in the navigation from users who are not logged in. The only thing I'd like to see is a Login/Registration inline with content on the front end, rather than the WP login page. That would give it a 5 star. I'm yet to test with WooCommerce on products, hoping that its compatible with that plug in.
Really strong plugin. Complete and enough user-friendly.
In my view would improve the management of the "setting". It's to hard to understand. And then i'd like to become translate in italian language.
Exactly what I was searching!
A simple plugin that provides frontend usergroup administration for managing access to pages and posts.
Worked fine apart from the bug that has been found by others
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-user-access-manager-tweak-for-function-addusercolumn , for which fortunately there is a fix.
Great plugin. My only concern so far is the ability to restrict access based on custom taxonomie (custom post types). We can actually only restrict based on default taxonomie of "Categories"
Would it be an updated function for the near future ?
