I have been using UpdraftPlus for about 3 months and I'm very pleased with how it works
The main plugin is fine, but restoration and migration should really only be used in a last resort.
I had a very specific instance in which I was unable to migrate manually. Let me be clear, IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES YOU SHOULD NOT USE A PLUGIN TO MIGRATE. They cause way, way more problems than they solve. I was facing a peculiar, unusual circumstance that prohibited migration through any other way.
The migration plugin is very, very far from perfect, or even good. But it is somewhat functional, which is more than I can say for any other one of the migration plugins I tried (part of this may be because my site is very large... others may work on small sites). So it was necessary and, thanks to their support, came through in the end.
Luckily, support is very good. My first query was not responded to appropriately, but afterward, the plugin staff provided excellent, amazing, and very responsive support. I only wish they had fixed these issues in the plugin and clarified the instructions so that it would not have been needed.
I had been using Updraft for a while as a backup plugin while using Duplicator as a migration plugin (and also back-up plugin at times). After having a scare with our back-ups I decided to go ahead and purchase the premium subscription and it was absolutely worth the price.
The integration with Dropbox, Amazon, etc itself is worth the price. Instead of using up disk space on my server I have set up the plugin to automatically update once a week or day (depending on the site's needs) and upload the back-up files to my Dropbox account, which can handle a larger storage size than my hosting server.
All of my sites are now being backed up, with multiple back-ups being saved, and I am being notified whenever there happens to be an error. The plugin can also back up every time I update my plugins which makes it much easier to roll things back if one of the plugins is causing a problem.
The icing on the cake is the migration feature. In my opinion it is better tan the duplicator plugin specifically because its simpler and is better at replacing all instances of the old URL with the new URL.
This has been doing my backup job over a year. Followed the instructions and it's been reliable ever since. Highly recommended.
I run Three WordPress Sites, A personal one and two for a Charity that I volunteer for. I use Updraft on all of them, My Personal one I backup to Dropbox, the Chrity sites i backup to our own FTP server.
In all cases It Just worked, it E-A-S-Y to install and configure, all the features I could possibly want and more are there.
What else can I say, it's brilliant.
Easy to use and gives me a good description of what the problem is if there is one. The automatic function is great--no remembering to backup, just set it and wait for the reports.
This is the simplest tool I may have ever used :)
While I don't yet know if the restore feature works as I've only just backed up my site... I'll give it 5 stars in good faith and will update my review should I find I need to in the future. Thanks!
All WP accounts should have a backup solution. This plugin works really well and allows us to backup to either our cloud service or the client's cloud service on schedule. If the cloud service is not available, it continues the backup schedule but backs up to the hosting server. Also, David is super responsive with assistance.
Very easy plugin to use which does as it says. Saves a lot of time when wanting to go back to a previous version of site before updating it or when experimenting "what if" scenarios that don't quite work out as you expected. :)
Easy to use and it works with google drive!
