As the other one-star-raters in here, I'm switching to https://wordpress.org/plugins/mojo-under-construction/

Goodbye!

How to ruin a perfect plugin
By , for WP 4.3

Some Noah Kagan took over this plugin from Jeremy Massel (why Jeremy?) and decided to add an intrusive spam panel in the admin (why Noah?).
Fortunately mojowill created a fork so we can all abandon this once perfect plugin. https://wordpress.org/plugins/mojo-under-construction/

Used be a 5 star until it was taken over by someone else.
By ,

This was a stellar 5-Star plugin all the up through version 1.1.2 by Jeremy Massel. However, in version 1.1.3 it was taken over by someone else and WP Dashboard popup ad spam was introduced, hence the reduction to 1-Star.

Fortunately mojowill has published a fork of the original plugin from Jeremy without ads which stays true to the original, and we've switched to that instead.

Invasive ad
By ,

I loved this plugin for years. But now it contains invasive advertisement, which pushes me to alternative solutions.
It's really a pity.

Spoilt by Greed

This has been a go to plugin for em for ages. However the latest version simply adds intrusive advertising for the "New" owner of the plugin. I'll simply fork the plugin and release a version without the horrible ads everywhere thanks.....

Plugin Spams Dashboard
By , for WP 4.2.2

Worked fine, good plugin.

Latest update spams the dashboard with advertising, if you click to dismiss it creates an error. The only way to get rid of the spam message is to deactivate.

The developer should remove this and think of other ways of generating income.

Avoid this one and find something better

Now being used to advertize
By , for WP 4.2.2

Since version 1.13 the plugin changed ownership and it will now add a big banner on the options screen of the plugin AND your plugin screen.

I've used the plugin in the past and liked it a lot. Technically it is still really good (version 1.13 and before). But the banners have put me off. What else will they add to the plugin next?

I'll give it 5 stars for the technical side of the plugin (thanks to the original author) and 1 star for adding annoying banners (thanks to the new owners). That is an average of 3 stars.

If ignoring some banners in the dashboard is OK with you the plugin is still (version 1.13 and before) really good.

For me it's a pity that a really good plugin that focused on doing exactly what was needed is now being used as a marketing tool. Yet another area where I will need to write my own code...
