If there was a 4.5 star rating I would have awarded that to Ultimate Tables. This plugin is incredibly easy to use and produces very attractive, lucid and user-friendly tables.
However although UT is streets ahead of other tables plugins I tried, I think there is still room for improvement. I would love the opportunity to create a template table for use on other pages. The tables are not responsive for mobile phone use. And it would be wonderful if there was an option to put a live link within a table - maybe there is using html, but I'm not sure how it works.
This plugin creates nice looking tables, but it is not responsive. On the site where I used it, the table becomes useless on a mobile device b/c you can't scroll horizontally and it doesn't shrink to fit the space. Thus only 4 stars instead of 5.
Table entry is one area where WordPress does not really offer any built-in support or features. This plugin does the job nicely. I figured out how to put a link into a table entry. Use html code ... okay, it's not rocket science but it might be useful to put that into your FAQ for users not over-familiar with html. It also took me a while to find out that the /1 has to be replaced by your table name in order for it to appear. Again, maybe put this in the FAQ or put it somewhere more noticeable. Finally, I struggled for a while with how to edit a table after a post has been published given that the table code does not appear in the post. However, I figured it out after a while. This too might usefully go in a FAQ.
Overall, I'm really glad I found this plugin and I'm really pleased with it. The only reason I've given a 4-star rather than 5-star rating is that it took me quite a while to figure out the three things I mentioned above.
