PHP 5.5.0 or never fix
By , for WP 4.4.1

if your server use PHP version 5.5.0 or never - plugin will return error. You can manually change one line in ultimate-category-excluder.php

change
echo '<li>MySQL version: '.mysql_get_server_info($wpdb->dbh).'</li>';
to
echo '<li>MySQL version: '.mysqli_get_server_info($wpdb->dbh).'</li>';

It happens because function mysql_get_server_info is outdated

works like a charm

Plugin isn't working on my site
By , for WP 4.4

Hello there,

It seems such a simple and very effective plugin which i really need but on my blog page the excluded category is still showing. I see that the plugin hasn't been updated for some years but people are still working with it and giving it good ratings... is there still assistance from the developer?

Thanks

Works

Works and easy to use

This plugin works and easy to use.

Not compatible with WPML
By , for WP 4.2.3

Seems to be working fine... Only for your default language if you're using WPML to translate your website!

Bummer...

Works but influences admin backend?
By , for WP 4.2.2

Works on blocking standard search/archives/rss/main page.
Not on sidebar widgets!
But also lets the entries disappear on back-end dashboard!
I think that is not what is intended?

Meant to give it 3 stars but cannot edit this?

Didn't work for me
By ,

I selected the book category not to appear on the main page,I refresh the main page and the posts are still there, the main page shows the latest posts.

Exactly what I needed
By , for WP 4.2.2

I wanted to exclude a certain category from the main blog page, and have a separate page showing only that category. This worked great, unlike the first plugin I tried :)
