Not worth the price but there is nothing else out that is similar
Very disappointed with this plugin. bitly shorterner with own credentials doesn't work. is shorterner also doesn't work. Pro version too expensive (75$ the cheaper), and with the pro version, bugs are not solved.
Took ages to get the right settings for it to work on twitter, set up facebook account eventually - but has failed, Log says "...Error for Facebook share on post.....Forbidden @A.N.G. Creative Design... Can you help?
The revive old posts plugin has stopped working. Also, I notice I can no longer set the interval between posts. It says I need the "Business" version. What is that?
I purchased the pro version of the plugin and though it does as advertised in that it reposts old posts, the implementation requires a huge amount of monitoring.
My site is relatively new, with approximately 40 posts. As a result, I don't want to annoy my Twitter followers by reposting the same posts back-to-back. Unfortunately, this plugin does so over, and over, and over. There appears to be something seriously wrong with the randomization, because in just a week of using the plugin (four posts per day, so 28 total possible repost slots) I have seen it repost the same article a minimum of two times in a row, on at least five occasions. Even if the number of posts is low, it should be statistically nearly impossible for it to post the same thing again and again so many times!
When I reported the issue, I was directed to a setting which says it will prevent reposting of the same article twice... but that you must then restart the plugin once all of the articles have been posted once! This is crazy!
Finally, I have many issues where the plugin reports an error from Twitter. After having reported the issue and requested support, I was informed that it was due to the large image size of some of my featured images. I have two problems with this: 1) if there is a maximum image size, the plugin should at least check and post without the image, post another article, or do something more graceful than miss the repost slot entirely. Secondly, all of my articles were posted to Twitter by Jetpack with no failures on images, so it appears JetPack is doing something more gracefully-- whether it's using one of the resized images or resizing itself, this plugin should follow its lead.
I want to like this plugin, especially after having paid a fortune for it-- but right now, I would not advise anyone who would be bothered by the above to purchase.
This used to work perfectly, on another site of mine, but sadly it no longer auto posts - sharing has to be stopped and then enabled again before anything is shared, and even then it will only post once.
If this was addressed I would be more than happy to upgrade, as was my intention on reinstalling.
I use ROP to make sure old articles on my site don't lose value, but I've found that the app is incredibly buggy. Though I have it set to tweet only one post at a time, I frequently discover that the app has tweeted up to 3 posts within a few seconds, which is something I definitely don't want.
Also, I've noticed that out of the 80+ articles I have, ROP seems to tweet only ~10 of them very often. This means my Twitter followers are seeing the same post over and over, which is leading to unfollows. This could easily be solved by not tweeting a post within "x" days after its last tweet, WITHOUT having to stop/start the plugin again (big hassle).
Overall, TOP worked much better than ROP. For me, anyway.
Post stop intermittently, have to constantly log-in to WP and Start/Stop sharing post since update.
Can't comment on how well/badly this plugin works over time as I've only just installed it - but the installation/registration process wasn't especially user-friendly.
Facebook rejected the supplied cut/paste registration code, so that was a bust. And having 'joined' this site, found my username/pw didn't work. So 'joined' again with new user name/pw and found I was then prompted to add the first set of details before I could post on this forum. Even then, the original pw wasn't recognised and had to be changed.
And though I was reasonably OK with adding my preferences to the set-up form, would have been helpful/reassuring to have little 'info buttons' alongside the multiple-choice tabs to fully explain the options open to you.
I'm assuming the basic free plugin only allows one link to a single social networking site. No way of knowing/explanation as to whether the same Twitter 140 character set-up is applied to FBook and LinkedIn; or tailored to fit; or what. So think I'll pass on spending more for this dubious privilege.
One final point. The recycling of old posts is a really good idea. But on the basis of a frustrating morning getting it up/running, need convincing this is the ideal plugin to make it happen.
The old version, Tweet Old Post, worked much better than this version. Now I can't get Facebook or Linkedin to work correctly, and no matter how many times I reset the plugin and tell it to tweet just 1 post at a time, it sends out 2-3 posts every time. Last week it stopped sending out tweets for no reason and I didn't notice for 4 days. The "Post with Image" function is particularly good, and I will admit that the plugin has definitely increased our website's traffic. But it's very wonky and unreliable.
