Easy to use and popular with my viewers. Thanks.
I'm running a danish history site. I had a similar feature when my site was based on Joomla. After migrating to WordPress some days ago, I found this Plugin. This Day In History was just what I was looking for :-)
Good plug in for showing anniversary dates. There are ways that It could been improved. If the plugin used the WordPress post editor it would allow images - and possibly featured images that might be handy. In the admin screed some ability to sort and filter by months and days would be an advantage. Ability to enter BCE dates might be good. Possibly a display of the number years anniversary might be good as well.
It works towards something I have been wanting for some time. Thanks for your efforts.
Thanks for creating this plugin ... and one question - how to us some events in next year?
Does exactly what I want it to. I used a widget shortcode creator plugin so now it has its own page. The only thing I would like to see is the categories that I create to be formatted differently than the events that I place in them. But other than that, it works perfect for what I need it for.
My only suggestion would be to figure out how to have the option of having the events display chronologically, by MM-DD.
I have events that span many years, and it would be nice to see them in the order in which they will post to the widget.
I want to display the birth dates of famous British men and women on the appropriate day; this plugin does that effectively. I'd agree with the review stating importing data would be ideal. I'd also like to display the day and month next to the Widget title.
It works very good and does what it is supposed to do.
There would be a lot of thing to make it better, but it wouldn't be as simple as it is.
I would like to have different locations so no manual modification is needed.
Thanks againg for your work!
Seems like a simple and straightforward plugin for what should be a simple and straightforward task, but the implementation is actually way too simple to be broadly useful!
Can't display just one factoid per day, but forced to list at least ten at a time -- and can't accommodate dates in antiquity: i.e., B.C.!!!
This is of little use if you don't connect events with posts. Why not showing posts from a specific posts category, instead of adding history events?
