This is a simple yet very effective testimonial rotator. I usually create a homepage and sidebar rotator with different settings to show client testimonials on just about every page. Well done.
I love this quote rotator because of how it works with SEO. ALL text from ALL quotes is visible to the search engine, which means you can add thousands of extra words to a page without the user perceiving it. I can't speak to how Google ranks text that is rotated in and out of visibility, but I suspect it's very helpful to have all the extra text there.
However, if you have the quote rotator on every page then Google may perceive that every page is fundamentally the same. If that's what you want perhaps a different XML based rotator would be better for you.
I also love that every quote gets a post of its own and can be linked to independently from the rotator plugin. The plugin generates a lot of new entry points for the site.
I've looked at a host of testimonial/review plugins and this is the cleanest, easiest testimonial plugin I've found. Thank You!
Thanks for this awesome pluging. Its so easy to make it work.
Only thing i cant figure out, is how website visitors can leave a testimonial behind with star rating. Is this option included in this plugin?
I've been searching for a text rotator like this one for a while, with some frustration. Every plugin I've seen had a very distinct American flavor... meaning that it was somewhat useful, but seriously lacking in some way, or it was a "light" version of something, meaning seriously crippled and not usable. And now I stumble upon your product and I'm blown away - it's totally useful and robust - EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you and keep up the good work.
I installed the rotator with the name "testimonials.
My testimonials page was also called /testimonials/.
I noticed that when I was clicking on the menu for the page /testimonials/, the list form of the rotator was appearing (my testimonials are pretty long).
I then changed the name of the rotator to "testimonials clips" and it didn't get confused anymore.
Tonight, though, I completely lost access to my /testimonials/ page, it would only show the short clips that I had included in the rotator.
I deactivated the plugin, even deleted it, and now my /testimonials/ page redirects to the home page. I had to create a /success/ page for the testimonials accessible through the main menu, but the old /testimonials/ page is not accessible, making all the links I have throughout the website to be broken.
Works great and offers template customization. Priceless.
This plugin is great, I downloaded 3 plugins and found this one the easiest to use and set-up. I only wish I had installed this one first as I wouldn't have installed any more.
Would highly recommend this plugin
OK folks, so here I am after installing two different testimonial plugins. The one that has had more downloads I didn't activate yet, and I'm not even going to.
This is one of the most developer-friendly plugins it has ever been my massive pleasure to work with. I cannot say anything bad about Testimonial Rotator (well, see bottom).
You can set up only one, or multiple rotators. Then, each testimonial you put in can be assigned to one or multiple rotators. OK, that's cool, nothing phenomenal, but it's a great touch.
Rotator editing can be set by user role. If you are already using Font Awesome, there is a setting to turn it off so you don't load it twice. 3 different options for error handling visibility.
Each rotator has 5 different transition options, featured image size (based on your media library and whatever other size your theme/plugin configuration offers), so much more. And each one comes with a list of suggested shortcodes that you can put right into your editor.
Did I mention custom field capabilities? Or custom template capabilities? Microdata (hReview) integration?
The kicker for me is that each rotator and each and every part of the rotator has its own CSS ID and/or class. That makes it stunningly easy to make your rotators look however you want, even different styles for different rotators on the same page. And there are no friggin' !important directives anywhere. SWEEEEET!!! (That's maybe the stupidest thing a theme or plugin developer can do, IMHO.)
There's a lot more. But what got me stopped doing what I was doing is that I was trying it out on my phone, AND YOU CAN SWIPE THE TESTIMONIALS.
Damn. That's cool. Even when the nav arrows are turned off.
If I ever find any ground that Hal Gatewood has walked on, I will kiss it multiple times.
THIS IS THE KIND OF PLUGIN DEVELOPER THAT EVERY PLUGIN DEVELOPER SHOULD BE!!
Thanks guys. Y'all ROCK! :)
p.s. Why does the vertical transition go from top to bottom? Looks kinda weird! Was gonna use that, but looks backwards to me. ;-)
Tried a lot of similar plugins. This plugin is very good! Easy to customize, or make changes! Thank you for the plugin!
