Here is an honest review - this plugin can be extremely powerful, BUT you need to be comfortable doing some code and back-end programming. Nothing too complicated, but if you really want to get the best out of the plugin, knowledge of some html and php is necessary. For example: the dropdown options allow for a subscribe/opt-in form...but there are no front end controls for the form. So you need to manually navigate through your web files to the correct folder, find the plugin's subscribe.php template, and manually enter the php code that links the user input to your mailing list, etc. I use the "custom" option, where you are creating the php form on your own from scratch, and the pop-out tab will display my custom contents. You really can put anything in there, but again need to know what you're doing.
The documentation is very, very weak...there really isn't any, which I don't understand. If the author took a little time on creating a user manual, it would add significant value. Because of this, it is absolutely NOT for beginners.
All that being said, if you know a little about coding, this can be awesome. Another little trick I use for the tabs: you can set the tab to any image in your library...so if you use an animated .gif, you can create and awesome tab that catches the user's eye. You can see how I used it here: [ link redacted, please do not post links in reviews ]
I hope that helps, good luck!
would buy if it showed on all pages.
there is 1 home page in a different language that it doesn't show up on, which makes it kind of unreliable. I mean, what other pages that I haven't checked is it not going to show on?
I have to agree that the styling is a bit cold, old and Windows looking, without a simple means of changing it. But it does a fantastic job for what I needed. Fours stars, and bleeding for more!
