The developer, @mdjekic, has made it clear that he no longer intends to support this plugin. That is his right. Just be aware of it.
I recommend WP Editor instead. It does everything Synchi does and more. It integrates the CodeMirror editor, and has AJAX file system integration, including being able to preview image files in a FancyBox. And, it’s fully supported.
I appreciate the work that has gone into this plugin. And I was excited to stumble across it. I've been using HTML Editor Syntax Highlighter and like it but have a couple minor problems with it. So I was willing to change plugins. I like the idea of code completion, folders, goto line, regex search & replace, and the keyboard shortcuts. However, two major pitfalls are that I can't use multiple cursors like I can with HTML Editor Syntax Highlighter (HESH) and that's huge for me! Also, I can't use [Cmd + S] to save the page or post and I use that all the time too with HESH. Also, I used CSS with HESH to style the syntax highlighting the way I wanted to match my syntax theme in Sublime Text. With this plugin, I don't like the limited syntax themes available and that I can't create my own.
Sometimes, we need support the customers, we need this in case no FTP info not give. So helpful.
I'm on the hunt for the perfect WordPress content html/text syntax editor. I'm not even sure what to call it, there aren't many plugins that do it. I have only found 3 so far. The other 2 are buggy at least on my websites. This plugin seems to work well, but I need my code buttons in the text editor, so I unfortunately can't use it.
I don't know, maybe some configuration missing?
Installed, tried to edit: circle of doom -> waiting for 5 minutes...
I created my own theme and tested this plugin as is. Works 100% - This is a MUST for any developer out there.
So far we have been using this to edit posts and pages. It works perfectly.
This plug-in is so useful that it ought to be an integral part of WordPress itself instead of being just a plugin.
Before installing this plug-in we found it incredibly time-consuming to edit long posts with just the standard plain-text editor. That standard plain text editor in WordPress is awful: just plain black text with no colour formatting, no indentation no line numbering. The standard WordPress editor might be fine for simple and short posts. However, our posts are long and complex: full of datatables, charts, etc as well as special classes on tags. Editing these posts was painfully slow and time-consuming without a proper text editor.
(The Visual Editor is not useful to us, because we need to work with the raw html - e.g. to enter our own custom classes and IDs on tags.)
So I went hunting and found this plugin called Synchi. It's perfect and exactly as described!
It's very easy to use because it replaced the plain text editor. When editing posts and pages the editor now shows:
Thank you to the developer!
If there is any way the community can help with the upkeep of this app please let us know!
I have an error with tab ident: it's not checked, but it still ident them.
and in the setting you should add a parameter : custom height;
this is great plugin. Thanks.
This is a pretty plugin and works well. However, I am getting lot's of undefined variable errors with WP debug turned on.
