Bring Back the Secret URL's
By , for WP 3.6

Game changer....really? I liked the old masked URL's better, that was a game changer.

This passcode/pincode thing is definitely NOT a game changer. I use Google Authenticator and Login Lockdown to take care of this. Google Authenticator will at least change the pincode every 30 seconds. This plugin has now become more noise in the WordPress Repository.

Please bring back the masked .wp-login.php feature.

Works Exactly as Described

Very pleased with this. I set it so it sends any errors to a malware site. I like that it gives no warning. So easy and so effective.

Was great against botnet login attempts, now they have returned
By ,

Before the last update, the login url was completely masked. It kept most login attempts by botnets outside. Which was really good. Now, you are required to fill in a passcode (like Google Authenticator, only the code stays the same for ever, until you change it).

Would be awesome if I as the admin could use both the masked url as well as the passcode. I know, this only provides basic security, but hey.. it worked before. Now most botnets will try anyways, which I don't want them to.

Worked until the latest update...now locks me out.

This plugin worked fine until I updated it today. After the update, I was locked out of my blog and had to go into htaccess and disable all my plugins to get back in. Any fixes on the horizon?

Good idea, but...

This plugin is the best available. It would be better, if the login page of WordPress (wp-login.php) were in a separate folder, so a customer can securely and easy protect the login page via .htaccess, but as long as this is not done, this plugin is absolutely necessary.

perfect!

Needed a plugin yesterday to redirect a big roach that was trying to brute force its way into my site.
It worked perfectly! Many thanks!

Causes plugins to break

Good idea but causes some plugins to break.

Brilliant Idea!

Excellent job! We've talked a decent amount internally about obscuring our login screen, but had never come up with such a simple and effective method. We're excited to see how this decreases the thousand or so login hack attempts we get a month.

Didn't work for me
By ,

Didn't work for me and I had cpanel and delete the plugin to regain access to site.

I was looking for an easy login plugin that simply changed the wp-login.php file. Having this will limit most attacks on the the server for my sites anyway. Not a total solution but one where it would stop auto-bots.

Thanks.

This plugin is phenominal. Works brilliantly and since installing I haven't had a single hiccup on my site, no hack attempts, not even spam comments!! =D I'm surprised it's free! Love It!!
