This excellent plugin enables WordPress core and plugin updates from within the WordPress admin on servers that do not allow FTP, such as Amazon Web Services.
Accepts password or .pem public key.
Works great. A big time saver.
Could you please make this working with automatic updates as well, so it will be treated like automatic FTP setting and I will not have to put my password every time, because it is quite annoying when the password is complicated.
Otherwise works as designed!
Great for WP sites on servers where you just don't want to use FTP :) Should really be in core.
Ftp didn't work but this is and its saves so much time. No longer having to manually add plugins and update WordPress!
By the way a good guide to removing the screen asking you to enter details is here:
I hope it helps!
It saved me a big headache. Thanks a lot!
I had wasted a whole afternoon in trying to make auto update working with a multisite installation on AWS EC2 in VPC. Followed WordPress documentation which didn't work. Also contacted AWS support but they said they don't officially support WordPress (so disappointing).
Finally found this plugin and installed it. With some configurations as found in this great post I am able to get auto update working for both WordPress itself and plugins.
Why the WordPress team doesn't consider including this plugin in the core?? Really thanks terrafrost!
This plugin should be in core
thank you so much
The Best! Simple and works perfectly! Thank You
