functionality is great and does the job perfectly.
But in case of customization its difficult to get your head around with so many tables to find exact option.
Does what is has to do.
Nice tool but wasnt a joy to use, sorry, maybe cos im a novice so rather see other reviews. Did the job thats whats important, thank you designers ;)
I have used various calendar plug-ins for different clients, but needed a simple, list-only type of solution for a particular nonprofit. After trying three other plug-ins, I was happy to see that Spider Calendar offered everything I was looking for and was very easy to set up.
I am not a web programmer by any means, and needed some help in customizing the look, so emailed Web Dorado for help. They fixed the issue I was having, and then proceeded to help me customize it even further. All for no charge, and on the free version!
I am confident that I can go to them with future requests, and that they will promptly respond with great customer service. Thanks for making an easy-to-use product that is backed by your helpful team!
Simple d'utilisation le seul reproche étant de ne pas pouvoir customiser facilement
I bought the paid version so I could customize the calendar, and while I had plenty of issues, the support for the calendar was good. While you may have some issues if you want a responsive calendar and are using a theme that includes fusion builder, it's likely they can help you make things work.
Thanks for the support!
Great product, using it for a local charity and really enjoying the functionality.
One problem is the time zone issue. Is there a way to set the calendar to be in the same time zone as I am so it shows the correct date?
Very good plugin calendar and great support! Very easy to add events and event categories.
1) Direct links from calendar to outside page instead of event page only.
2) Order events on calendar
First, the customer support is fast--even for the free version.
Unfortunately, the Web-Dorado folks can't seem to make it mobile-friendly. When I initially installed the free version, I noticed that the left arrow on the calendar didn't show up on cell phones. Also, the calendar, itself, was cut off so you could only see the left half of it.
So, I contacted Web-Dorado support. They responded the next day and asked for an Admin password, which I gave them. They fixed the calendar width but not the missing left arrow. So I told them the following day that the left arrow was still missing. They added the left arrow but it was too far to the left. So, I told them the day after that the left arrow was not correctly placed. They, then, fixed the arrow's placement--sort of.
Everything was okay until the update. After the update, all of the mobile problems returned. I contacted their support and they fixed the calendar width but not the missing left arrow (you see the cycle I hope). Obviously Web-Dorado knows what the problem is. They should either keep track of their bugs and fix them or tell me how to fix them so I don't waste a week playing email tag to re-repair the calendar after each update.
I'll increase my rating to five stars after Web-Dorado fixes the bugs.
I had been using Spider Event Calendar (free version) on my site for a few months with a lot of complex code for each entry, and one of their updates caused a problem with my calendar. I contacted them via email and received a polite, friendly response almost immediately and a fix within 24 hours, and all is well. In addition, I had a few concerns about whether I might have caused the problem, and they reassured me that it was on their end.
And a while later, someone working on my website tried to "help" me by updating Spider Event Calendar, and caused the same problems again. And once more, the support I received was polite and friendly, and they even edited my entries for me to alleviate the problem.
I am thrilled with web-dorado's professionalism and will be buying a license. If you don't care about the color combination or themes I can assure everyone that the free version works perfectly and their support is outstanding. I have two separate calendars installed on the same site and over a thousand records in each one, including complex recurring events, and I have complete confidence in this plugin.
The only downside is that WordPress image captions and slideshows don't work. When they add this feature this plugin will be unbeatable. They simply need to add the ability to use native WordPress (and maybe other) shortcodes to the plugin to make it completely functional. When they have this it will definitely be a five-star plugin!
If, after an update, you get a
\r\n displaying in your entries, it is easily fixed by not using a simple return in the text editor, but using the proper
<br /> tag. At the moment Spider Event Calendar will try to insert the
\r\n code to try to interpret the line break, and that doesn't play nicely with the current version of WordPress. Using the
<p> tag will convert the characters to HTML entities and all you get is code displayed.
