Doesnt block anything
By , for WP 4.2.2

You can add addresses, domnains or ip to your personal protection list but bots still can register.

I'm convinced it's a scam to make you buy the full version
By , for WP 4.0

I installed Spam Master today to try to get rid of a few spam users that were registering each day.

After I installed the plugin, I got HUNDREDS of spam users trying to register.

I am totally convinced that this is scam, they send you more spam so that you pay for the full version.

TERRIBLE

I'm still getting a lot of spam!
By , for WP 4.3.1

Installed it over a week ago, if anything I'm getting more spam now than I used to! Maybe there's something wrong with my settings but I can't imagine what it would be, I've been through them all.

I'm using Free Protection.

Not sure what his does or how it works
By , for WP 3.6.1

At $25.00 it's pretty steep for spam protection when there are free ones out there.

The free version seems to be plug-n-play, no configuration. It says it's blocking me from "4 threats" but you can't see what those threats are. I don't know where it gets it's "spam list" from and looking at their website I don't think that information is available.

You can't create your own blacklist - which you can do with a couple of free plugins.

For the money they need to give you a lot more - and be very specific about how it works, where they get their spam list, how often it's updated, needs to show blocked registrations and you should have the ability of manually allowing a blocked registration by clicking an "approval" link.

This is the spam filters work in the corporate world - Barracuda, Spamstops here, etc…they block emails, you get a list of each one that was blocked and the ability to click on it and mark it "not spam".
