Easy sharing and connecting on social networks. Display on posts or use widgets or shortcode. Also Twitter name/hashtag to link converter.
If you want to implement this plugin in a website for a client, remember that your users will get unwanted advertising. If this is not a disadvantage for you, then use it.
Specifically with the non removable branding button. If you use this in conjunction with wp-recaptcha then you have to remove the use of MAIL-HIDE from all the posts and pages that the Social Sharing toolkit is on.
Links alpha contains some JS fatal errors which prevent any script in your page from correctly functioning. They are not responsive on removing the branding off the plugin.
Screenshots do not even show the outcome of the plugin. It's a wild guess of what you are going to get with this plugin.
And it's awful. It has a shortcode, but it doesn't work if used with do_shortcode within a theme. There are restrictions to where it will be displayed. If you are manually including a shortcode, it should always be displayed.
It's not even a list of buttons. It's a dropdown. I don't want an unfamiliar share dropdown. Nobody is going to click on that. Give me a list of familiar social icons instead.
The plugin results in 800KB of extra requests to various strange websites. Do not use!
Good but linksalpha button can't be hidden, too bad.
The new version of Social Sharing Toolkit is bundled with spyware from LinksAlpha. Had to uninstall.
Anonymous (Browser Information, Hardware/Software Type, Internet Service Provider, Page Views )
Pseudonymous (IP Address (EU PII))
Aggregate data is shared with 3rd parties.
Not nice adding a cannot-deactivate-linksalpha button...
Somewhere in the readme.txt it even states:
"the plugin runs off our servers at LinksAlpha.com in order to process the social sharing analytics which helps you track virality of your content across social channels." Yeah right.
Not very nice, but there is an easy way out (since its still a nice plugin):
delete the file "wp-content/plugins/social-sharing-toolkit/includes/buttons/button.linksalpha.php".
Backdraw: don't update... it will probably be back...
This was such a good product, until introduced a LinksAlpha share button that cannot be turned off and does not conform to the site's CSS. The button now floats above (due to a z-index being !important).
Removing to get a different plug in.
LinksAlpha added the non-hideable links alpha button...
This buttons is nothing more than a thinly veiled tracking and malware component.
Your site will be overrun with Links Alpha Query strings that are incredibly long.
You will become the slaves of another evil organizations attempting to track you and your site user's every move.
When I updated the plugin my Google Page Speed grade went from 94 to 69. Yslow went from 90 to 77.
