It's a scam
By , for WP 4.2.1

Don't waste your time downloading and implementing this, you'll be getting fool's gold. It doesn't offer 90% of what it displays in the demos, unless you're willing to pay. It adds a "Go Full version" on basically everything you'll try. Better stick with other sliders.
Even developers who creates free sliders with at least 60% of its features know that good quality free products leads to pro sales.

If you're not willing to pay for Smart Slider, WordPress plugin's directory has plenty of better free sliders. Now I know why it's called Smart slider, smart enough on spamvert. Good job on the transparency, I almost couldn't see it coming.

"You raised my hope and dashed them quite expertly sir, bravo!"

Call it Less Than Lite
By , for WP 4.1.1

Look, there are a ton of sliders out there. The interface is good, but just be transparent about how little you offer on this particular plugin. Otherwise, just sell the full and don't bother with this. There's so little that you offer in the free version that it's just a complete waste of time.

waste of time

Your plugin is nice, i admit it. However, your misleading us by listing and suggesting functions that only exists in the premium version.

Effectively a ransomware plugin

Every possible thing you could wish to do with such a plugin puts up a little line 'Full version only'. I'd love to give it less than one star - the wordpress repository is effectively being used as nothing other than a spamvert

Layout and font management is a Lovecraftian Nightmare.
By , for WP 3.9.1

Generated slideshows will not use global custom fonts, and generator fonts don’t show up outside generated slideshows. This means if you want to tweak a generated slideshow with a custom layout you made OUTSIDE a generated slideshow, any custom fonts you’ve used will not show up until you’ve reset the slideshow with global font settings. But this means all generator fonts you’re still using will be COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY and you’ll have to re-do everything.

It took me ages to figure all this out because the interface is more convoluted than Dwarf Fortress and incredibly slow.

Also, importing/exporting font settings doesn’t work AT ALL. And don’t tell me I have to upgrade to the paid version to make that work, because getting that right should be at the very core of your app. Besides, with the amount of man-hours I've wasted re-doing over a hundred slides, you probably owe ME money.

If I could find another slideshow plug-in that generates decent touch interface slideshows, I'd drop this unwieldy beast in a heartbeat.

Yet fixing this could be simple, if only custom global fonts showed up in generated slideshows. That’s all that needs to be done.

Surely an awesome plugin but you can't use it in free version because picture item is blocked.
Sorry but I don't like to waste my time don't give a free version if we can't do a slideshow with it.
I will recommend it to my client but not to my friend.
