The author needs to update the plug-in it caused a fatal error once I'd activated the plug-in. I've now had to log in via my FTP to remove the plug-in.
It's a shame it would be a great addition to the site.
I'd love to give this review five stars, but I've found that the dashboard menu is broken on 4/5 sites I have installed this on. It simply disappears and does not show. THis means the only way to access the Slack plugin menu is to manually enter http://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=slack_integration
If the authors of this plugin fixed the menus, I would give this five stars and my full endorsement.
Works well using Dap1's suggested setup method.
However, if WordPress subject has special characters (and at the end of the post preview where you have ...) then Slack channel will show the unicode version of what was entered.
Apart from that issue, the plugin works great.
It took a little bit to set up the plugin due to the plugin documentation being out of date. You need to go into slack.com and create an Incoming Webhook under the Integrations section, NOT create a token and use the URL example.
Also, this plugin only works for sending notification for WordPress' default Post Type. It does not work for Pages, or Custom Types.
Works just fine... Would like to see it support both directions.
Both outgoing and incoming webhooks.
