Don't understand 'Other Options'.
Needs to disable all Dashboard options (by role) allow only Profile to be viewed.
I'm still giving this plugin 5 stars because it does what it says it can, and it's really nice to be able to select the different fields manually. Although for my needs, I need something to be compatible with the Theme My Login plugin, which, sadly, this isn't. :( I'll keep it in mind for future projects though!
I tried another one before this that was good, but this one gave me even more control including renaming the headings. Brilliant! Should be part of WP core.
I just needed a simple profile for site member, showing name and email, and this plugin does exactly that allow me to remove unnecessary WordPress default fields.
Works well with WP v3.8 but I feel it needs update. By the way great plugin.
A very useful plugin, thank you. I don't fully understand the function of 'Other Options' but otherwise simple and straightforward.
this is exactly what i was after.
the ability to hide information that is i didn't want users to modify.
however, i am unable to disable the email field, there is no tick box for me
overall top job!!
This does as it describes. However, I'm not giving it 5 stars because what this needs is a way to specify which user roles the changes apply to. For instance, I would want to limit a subscriber more than an admin.
Keep up the good work!
Simplify your user profiles by removing fields your users don't need...
I installed this plugin as an admin tool for hiding certain fields my site does not need at all, and to hide other fields I do not want users changing all on their own. This plugin lets you hide user-profile fields or bring them back out without losing anything in them.
You can minimize the profile down as far as only username, email, and change password.
In my Twenty Twelve Child Theme, these user-contact fields still show and cannot be hidden:
Twitter username (without @)
Tom has told me the additional support for hiding those fields will be added within less than a month (1 - 3 weeks), and he has already been quick in releasing an update for one very-minor bug.
