I like the ease of use this Plugin offers out of the box.
The developer is a scammer - I say this because the plugin sucks and is so poorly coded and buggy it will break your site. Developer has been completely unresponsive to the support forum for more than a year, so if you did buy the premium version (because the free one is utterly useless) you will get no support and no chance of a refund either. I'd like to personally kick this idiot in the nads, developers like this should not be allowed to operate in the WordPress marketplace.
Installing this plugin OR the pro version causes several problems. I use a variation of underscores for development, so it's highly doubtful that it had anything to do with the theme I was using.
When saving settings, sometimes it would work. But sometimes it logs me out of WordPress. Other times it takes me to a blank page with 'data:,’ in the browser url field. The plugin is most definitely unstable.
I emailed the developer describing the problem pretty quickly after receiving his email saying I should upgrade. So I upgraded to pro, emailed right away and didn't get a response back for a couple of days. At that point he wanted to login to my clients site... but it was too late. I had moved on and found another solution. He refuses to refund for the pro version. I should have checked reviews before trying either version.
For some simpler usage, works well! For me, it finishes great job :)
Sorry but the free version is next to usless, next to zero functionality. You cant choose which posts/pages to have it active on or set the number of times it is shown.
This plugin is close to being great, but I'm on the fence about whether or not I will keep using it because it is very buggy.
1. If you have non-admin users, they will not be able to access the posts in the WP dashboard after you activate this plugin unless you make them admins. Luckily, I trust my current writers and can make them admins but will have to drop the plugin if I continue to add more writers.
2. If you change from a "modal" popup to an "exit" popup and then want to change back to a modal, good luck because it just stays an exit popup forever. Sometimes deactivating the plugin, clearing all caches, and then reactivating will let you get it back to a modal. But talk about a time consuming process!
3. Say you want to make changes to your popup content and need to test a few changes. Well, good luck. After the first save, if you edit your content and then hit "save changes" again, the next thing that will happen will be you looking at an "about:blank" page. When you hit "back" to get back to the editor, none of your changes will be saved. The only way to get them to save is to copy your content into your clipboard, leave the settings page, return to it, paste you content back into the editor, and then hit "save changes." You will also have to manually clear your cache each time you make a changes because the plugin does not know how to do that.
I'm hoping the author will roll out an update to address these issues, as I did pay for the premium version.
the worst popup plugin that i see
Great plugin. We need more plugins that are as easy to set up as this. I just added a graphic with wording built in and done.
Maybe 3 minutes total and pop up works. I really love how it only displays once per session without any settings to mess with.
I will definitely look into the pro version since the free version works so well.
