I have links to images on my pages and posts on my wordpress site. I have this installed. However they don't trigger the lightbox. Because it's so "simple" there's no configuration I can mess with that will fix this. I already confirmed that the configuration that does exist is set correctly. I'm not left with many other options. There should be the option to add in some kind of attribute to elements to force the lightbox.
After half an hour fighting to understand how this plugin works, with the help of the web's manual, I uninstalled it without having a single photo lightroomed.
This plugin slowed my website down to a crawl. I deleted it from all 3 of my wordpress websites and now all three load within 2 seconds.
If I could get the plugin to work, I would love it. However, I have followed all of the suggestions that I could find and I could get it to work in a sandbox. But nothing that I do, including trying de-activating all plugins and checking that I have the latest version of jQuery, will get it to work on the live site. If anyone could help with suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
For me impossible to dev with it !
The Plugin P3 allows you to see how long each plugin of your site is loading. Simple Lightbox is taking by far the most time.
Don't waste your time.
It'll take you hours to figure out how to use it. That's if you actually get anywhere.
I had the plugin installed, and I read the intro thoroughly for any instructions...
"Automatically activate links (no manual coding required)"
Says the first bullet.
"Okay, seems so simple. I'll take your word for it, and will assume I don't need to edit my theme's CSS's
<a> tag classes. No manual coding required it is."
So I tried opening a page with the images loading the links in a
target="_blank"... and—still, the images opens in a new tab/window in an ugly full page JPEG preview. No Lightbox.
So, what's wrong?
I was looking for a really simple plugin to lightbox a single image on a very complex site. Awesome, this one is advertised as simple.
At 571KB with 80+ files and 43 folders its anything but simple. Total fail on my site, not sure what it interfered with, and I don't have the time to figure out the compatibility issue.
But you get one star for misleading title, causing me to waste 20 minutes of my life I can never get back.
I liked the plugin but then I discovered a problem in the admin (new users could not post new messages).
After deinstall/delete it was ok again.
So please check it out. It was with theme ZEENOBLE.
