If I could get the plugin to work, I would love it. However, I have followed all of the suggestions that I could find and I could get it to work in a sandbox. But nothing that I do, including trying de-activating all plugins and checking that I have the latest version of jQuery, will get it to work on the live site. If anyone could help with suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
For me impossible to dev with it !
The Plugin P3 allows you to see how long each plugin of your site is loading. Simple Lightbox is taking by far the most time.
Don't waste your time.
It'll take you hours to figure out how to use it. That's if you actually get anywhere.
I had the plugin installed, and I read the intro thoroughly for any instructions...
"Automatically activate links (no manual coding required)"
Says the first bullet.
"Okay, seems so simple. I'll take your word for it, and will assume I don't need to edit my theme's CSS's
<a> tag classes. No manual coding required it is."
So I tried opening a page with the images loading the links in a
target="_blank"... and—still, the images opens in a new tab/window in an ugly full page JPEG preview. No Lightbox.
So, what's wrong?
I was looking for a really simple plugin to lightbox a single image on a very complex site. Awesome, this one is advertised as simple.
At 571KB with 80+ files and 43 folders its anything but simple. Total fail on my site, not sure what it interfered with, and I don't have the time to figure out the compatibility issue.
But you get one star for misleading title, causing me to waste 20 minutes of my life I can never get back.
I liked the plugin but then I discovered a problem in the admin (new users could not post new messages).
After deinstall/delete it was ok again.
So please check it out. It was with theme ZEENOBLE.
Complete rubbish. Requires to link images to attachment page which is where it takes you when you click on the image. From there, the image when clicked take the entire screen without any visible controls. Complete waste of time.
Wanted to use on website for a sidebar widget. Unable to gather from website and forums on how to set up correctly. Asked for help on forum - more of a tutorial if you will. Author asked that I fill out an issue report, which I do not see as an issue - more of a lack of knowledge on my part. Either way, reply email from author was a bit snarky (smiley faces do not mask that) - so I've deleted and will find another source. I just asked for step by step help.
