The highly customizable lightbox for WordPress
Simply adds lightbox to your photos - nothing more.
I love this plugin more every day! I use it on almost all my WordPress sites, including my mom's art site. I mention this specific example because her pictures have captions and Simple Lightbox does a *stunning* job of popping up and "swiping" the text down below the picture. It's a joy to behold.
It broke when I turned on SSL for my sites, but it was actually cURL that was broken when trying to connect via SSL. A cURL upgrade on the web server fixed this.
Best plugin I've been using so far to add a lightbox. Responsive, works fine on phones. Uses the WP gallery. Easy to setup.
It just does what it says on the tin. Easy to install and configure, nice to work with.
Obviously, there are not a million options to choose from, but that was neither the idea. Use another plugin if you need more than a "simple lightbox" feature.
Thanks for this plugin.
Was looking for a SIMPLE and most of all easy to use lightbox for a while. There are lots of lightbox plugins out there but this one has all the options I need:
1) Translatable (next, previous, etc)
2) Lightbox size
3) Works on ipad
4) Works without adding shortcode, etc
Don't waste your time.
It'll take you hours to figure out how to use it. That's if you actually get anywhere.
I was looking for a very basic/simple lightbox plugin and Simple Lightbox was prefect. I didn't have the need for anything fancy ... just a decent display of clickable images.
I installed from the admin page and it just worked ... no setting changes ... no tweaks to the images!
I gave it a 5 Stars because t was EXACTLY what I wanted/needed.
Simple. Work. All needed functions. A lot of thanks to developers :)
What you get here is easy to use straight after install with simple customisations.
A big plus is NO need to pay for extra's immediately to have it render decently..even captions are shown..!!!
I had the plugin installed, and I read the intro thoroughly for any instructions...
"Automatically activate links (no manual coding required)"
Says the first bullet.
"Okay, seems so simple. I'll take your word for it, and will assume I don't need to edit my theme's CSS's
<a> tag classes. No manual coding required it is."
So I tried opening a page with the images loading the links in a
target="_blank"... and—still, the images opens in a new tab/window in an ugly full page JPEG preview. No Lightbox.
So, what's wrong?
