Not as simple as it could be and I never actually got it to work. Didn't really know what to type in each field, the documentation could do with being clearer and more verbose.
Needs a testing tool with some sort of log to pinpoint any issues.
I've used this plugin to authenticate against eDirectory and Active Directory. So far, it just works. Kudos to Clifton G.!
Unbelievable how much time has passed since the last update.
Already so much has changed in the plugin, I'm afraid it updated.
This just works, that simple forget the rest of the LDAP plugins out there, trust me we have tried them all, this is simple and just does exactly what it says it does. If you need to authenticate to AD then look no further.
If your LDAP use bind info and passowrd to query it, this plug in do not support it.
Worked out of the box in our corporate environment.
In the "base dn" section it says: "do not specify OU here", but if I don't then I can't login! Very odd.
Seriously simple. Up and running in no time. Makes me look like a rock star at work :)
One caveat: it might conflict with other AD plugins. Make sure you disable those before trying this one. You won't need the others anyway.
My organization has been using this plugin for four years. Easy to configure!
