The simple ip ban is purely simple. Very easy to understand. You just type the ip you want to ban and that very ip get banned. No criteria, filters or anything complicated. You just need something like limit-login-attempts-like widget or tool or whatever to find those suspicious ip. Then you type those ip to block them from attempting to login your site again.
Works as expected and yet so simple to use but unfortunately there is no option to show a certain message to the banned user other than redirect that user to a site of your choice - OR show him a blank page.
The plugin works perfectly, helped me in a situation with a malicious user.
Congratulations to the developer and please keep up the great work.
I was getting pretty pi55ed off with sad people attempting to log in as admin (my site has no user called admin). No security risk but it was stealing my bandwidth. I set up a simple text only redirect page, added a long (and growing) list of IP addresses and .... voilà sorted.
