The problem with this plug-in, and others like it, is that it allows you to protect the link that gets you to the download file, but it doesn't protect the actual download file URL itself. So once one successfully enters a password, for example, they now have access to the direct link, which can be copied and redistributed - allowing anyone to directly access the download, bypassing the protection.
Everything looks nice, except that your language files are all broken. I think you should fix that.
It's not a bad plugin as it pretty much does what it says. Unfortunately it won't work in my situation due to a bug. You can use the category shortcode to display a list of files in a particular category on a page, however; if you use the same password to protect each of the files in a single category, then an error occurs. You can put in the correct file password, but the page will just refresh and fail to authenticate each time. The user can't get assess to his or her file if passwords are identical on a single page.
Hi, the plugin works fine, except when it comes to UAM (https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-access-manager/). All post-types I tested so far work perfectly fine with UAM; however, this one does not. Hope this can be fixed soon, since a working combination of these two plugins would be astonishing!
