Optimizes the WordPress Database after Cleaning it out
It's a good plugin but pay attention if you use it in a multilingual site.
You need to know how to set it. If you are a simple user maybe you can get your database corrupted.
I'm using it in a bilingual site including a woocommerce store as well as normal blog posts. I run it the first time with out of the box settings and it worked enough well. But when I deactivate whole tables just having revisions, spam and trashed file cleaned I got some problems.
It cleaned database but someway I couldn't modify posts tags as well as many post tags were not working anymore and translation missed.
Today, I deactivated and reactivated the plugin then run db 1 click and my posts are again editable.
So take care before using it but the plugin if correctly set works good.
Thanks for developing it.
If you use WooCommerce and import products with the same name as ones you previously deleted, either through CSV or manually, their names won't show up in the products. That's because they are still in the database as orphans with the status of being deleted. After trying to resolve this issue with three of the other top WP DB optimizers, this is the only one that actually got rid of those orphans, cleaning up my database to work freely with product names again.
The only thing I don't like about this plugin, besides its cumbersome name, is its layout in the Dashboard. Certainly the one-click DB optimize button at the top is fine, although the "(1-click)" part of its title can go. We're not stupid, we know it's a one-click button, because settings requires the tick to make it so. Also, do we need to see the author's name and website links every time we run the plugin? And in the settings, as well? Most plugin authors relegate that info to the plugins list.
All in all, it is the best DB optimizer I've tried. I think I'll stick with it. Hopefully, the author will, too. There are far too many plugins not keeping up with the WordPress versions throughout the years.
I struggled with selecting the rating. This plugin is absolutely worthy of 5-stars. But it not comprehensive in a multisite environment.
So I gave it 4-stars hoping to prompt some encouragement to extend the plugin to be a true multisite compatible.
Let me explain:
_commentsmetatable - awesome job !!
Also, here are some suggestions to make the plugin even more powerful:
maybe you can make it more comfortable for multisite installations? Then it´s definitely 5-star worth.
I get a write permission error when trying to save the log file.
What is a safe read/write map setting so the plugin can save the log file but hackers will not access it?
Using a German WordPress installation, no further problems.
