Optimizes the WordPress Database after Cleaning it out
If you use WooCommerce and import products with the same name as ones you previously deleted, either through CSV or manually, their names won't show up in the products. That's because they are still in the database as orphans with the status of being deleted. After trying to resolve this issue with three of the other top WP DB optimizers, this is the only one that actually got rid of those orphans, cleaning up my database to work freely with product names again.
The only thing I don't like about this plugin, besides its cumbersome name, is its layout in the Dashboard. Certainly the one-click DB optimize button at the top is fine, although the "(1-click)" part of its title can go. We're not stupid, we know it's a one-click button, because settings requires the tick to make it so. Also, do we need to see the author's name and website links every time we run the plugin? And in the settings, as well? Most plugin authors relegate that info to the plugins list.
All in all, it is the best DB optimizer I've tried. I think I'll stick with it. Hopefully, the author will, too. There are far too many plugins not keeping up with the WordPress versions throughout the years.
I struggled with selecting the rating. This plugin is absolutely worthy of 5-stars. But it not comprehensive in a multisite environment.
So I gave it 4-stars hoping to prompt some encouragement to extend the plugin to be a true multisite compatible.
Let me explain:
_commentsmetatable - awesome job !!
Also, here are some suggestions to make the plugin even more powerful:
Optimize database and makes the slow db fast :-)
I was using WP Optimizer but was actually benefitting from it because it does not support InnoDB - so basically, it was just deleting transient options.
I ran this on my DB and - even though I have been manually dropping tables, and cleaning the WP Options table, this plug-in was still able to remove 1.6mb of crud.
I love the scheduling feature, too.
P.S. Please consider re-naming the plug-in. I was a little scared to use it because of the name but the reviews said it rocked, and it did!
P.P.S. Please add the deletion of pingbacks and trackbacks in the next version.
Easy to use and frees up wasted space in DB, also optimises too which is a great help saves going into phpMyAdmin
This plugin works well, really helpful to decrease required time for deleting revision. No more PHPMyAdmin!
Very useful plugin.
The ability to delete revisions and expired transients should be part of core.
No more phpmyadmin logins. Just by using this plugin you can get a smaller and optimized database. It removes all revisions (if you like) and deletes all spam. It's great.
Thank you for this great plugin.
It's not only dead-easy to use, but also works quickly and caused me absolutely no grief. I now have a much smaller, much tidier database!
