Some spammy crap right here

Can't even get a price, Just want me to install it and then give them my e-mail to their sales staff. I don't think so. Why we let this crap in the repository? GTFO.

Simple and fast

Rublon is a great alternative for SMS-based 2FA - faster (you are not waiting for SMS delivery) and simple (just scan the QR code instead of typing numbers).

Very Simple, Very Secured!

This plugin secures my site cleverly. If this impressed Sucuri, then it impresses me!

Pretty silly

The plugin authors try to minimize the fact that this plugin ONLY SUPPORTS ONE PERSON.

If you want to use this in its full capacity IT COSTS MONEY.

This is only mentioned in the very last paragraph on the plugin description page. There's no mention of pricing anywhere on the main site. This is not a free plugin. Look elsewhere.

I don't have an issue with paying money for plugins, especially high quality ones. But when this is advertised as a free solution, I have some serious misgivings about trusting the authors with anything. I'd urge those reading this review to do the same.

Wish we could give 0 stars!

What a joke, sells so many of us on one concept without all kinds of fees. THEN sends one tiny, somewhat confusing e-mail essentially killing all but one user unless you pay the ransom. Isn't that extortion?

I love how they've redone their site to make this look so good, but they managed to lie and claim 5 stars while it dwindles down to 4.5 and on the way to the basement. Isn't that even more false advertising?

It's too bad, the app helped send overseas hacks packing when combined with OTP and other software to form a solid block. But that was without the $99+ a year cost. If I wanted professional security, I'd buy professional security software. At least we'd have gotten some warning notices this was forthcoming and not an e-mail bomb after it happened...

But how do you trust an untrustworthy App Author?

[HINT: you don't.]

Sorry, but don't install this

Another example of some WordPress developers' totally unethical business practices.

Offer the plugin for free. Get tens of thousands of users. Then make the free plugin almost totally useless and require the tens of thousands of people who're already relying on the security features to pay to continue to get the same features they already had.

Awesome, yet disappointing at the same time.

My first impression was: "awesome!" and it's a great tool if it works on your site. On my multisite however, I did not manage to get it going on more than one site per user.

Because it's an awesome tool I spent a lot of time trying to solve this and was determined enough to even write a tutorial about it, while waiting for a reply. I never finished it though.

My enthusiasm cooled down when receiving this Rublon newsletter stating they would only protect one admin account per site. Anything more would cost $99/site/year.

I can understand the decision, but currently you can read in the description:

What Does Rublon Cost?
Nothing! The basic Rublon plugin is free and always will be. Premium features like custom branding are available through our paid Business Plan.

And in the FAQ:

How can I protect my account with Rublon?
Simply install the Rublon for WordPress plugin and activate it. After activation, all accounts have instant protection with email-based, two-factor authentication.

I would consider to pay $99/y for my multisite, but Rublon confirmed through email:

You'd require a seperate license for each website, but you can purchase bulk licenses for 100 or more websites.

That is not an option for me. So, basically, they break their word and by doing so they wasted my time.

Still, if you have a WordPress site with only one admin, or if the business edition is an option for you, Rublon is a great plugin. I however do recommend to take a look at the Simple Security Firewall as well. I'm currently also struggling to get it going on my multisite, but it does work well on the main site, so it should go smooth on single installs.

A Must Have Plugin

I have 14 WP sites and Rublon is on every site. I recommend to everyone I know who creates their own WP sites.

The best one out there!

Recently launched a new site and i was looking into enforcing 2 factor authentication on my site and i found Rublon which leaves all the rest in the dust. It is easy to set up it took me less than 5 minutes to install and setup the mobile application. The thing that makes Rublon better is that it's got this nextgen kinda way of logging in in which the plugin displays an animated process of the login procedure with easy to follow steps on how to get access to the site you're logging into with Rublon. Everything is detailed and the support is superb! They reply fast. If you are looking for a 2 factor authentication plugin which will keep your site away from abusive bots and keep your visitors safe look into no other plugin than Rublon! You'll thank me later.
