It hasn't been updated in a while, but it still works, even for a site with a responsive sidebar. Thank you so much!
I've seen this on other sites and thought I'd give it a try. Overall it works, but I would say it's a bit buggy. At times the widget would just show at the top of the page and I could never get the margins right from where I wanted it from the top and the bottom of the page (footer). I love the idea and think the widget works, but the bugginess and unpredictability of it forced me to remove it.
So, i installed the plugin - tested a widget and it sort of worked - except the widget now overlapped all other widgets and didn't even stop at the footer it just disappeared so I uninstalled the Plugin, I deleted from database and what do you know? The widget is still sticking and performing incorrectly. So i deleted the widget entirely and, what do you know? IT STILL REMAINS after Deletion thanks to this Plugin.
EDIT- got it deleted, still unimpressed though.
Make sure to read the FAQ's and you'll save your self some pain with responsive themes, footer height and refresh interval.
Very useful plugin :)
In all my years of developing sites for clients, I have resisted sticky/stationary widgets. Because I haven't seen their value.
However, this week I absolutely needed to implement one for a client. It was on a long multi-lingual page where we needed to keep one bit of info present while the user scrolled. And this plugin does the trick. It respects resizes, allows me to set footer margins, etc.
Love it! Thank you so much!
I use a WordPress theme that allows me to turn on or off my sticky header. When I installed this plugin, it automatically overrides my sticky header and pushes the header off the screen. Bummer! I have been trying for months to find a floating sticky sidebar widget that will not conflict with my sticky header.
Works fine :)
Works like a charm
