I have the version 3.4.0 of Print Friendly that WordPress installed on June 6. I like it--works great--no ads in Firefox or Chrome.
Wordfence reports that there are 11 differences in the pf.pfp file and 1 difference in the readme.txt file betweeen the version installed on my site and the version in the WordPress Plugin repository. I downloaded that one and did a file comparison. They are quite different.
Should the one in the current repository have been reversioned 3.4.1, or is it a hacked version of 3.4.0?
Based on the latest comments here saying there are now a lot of ads, I don't think I want to install the current version 3.4.0 from the repository. I'll keep the one I have that doesn't show ads. It seems like the one in the repository was hacked.
In future, please update the version information and list all the changes in the change log, or check the validity of the download file in the repository from time to time.
Installed. Looked great. Customizable to some degree (could use more). Would be nice to have the button BOTH at the top AND bottom of posts.
So, I went to try it... and ADS!!! If I'm going to run ads on my blog (and I don't), it will be to generate revenue for ME.
I read too quickly the previous negative reviews, downloaded the plugin, tested it with Chrome and said : wow, this plugin does magic. But when I tested with FF and IE, what a horror ! Ugly and intrusive ads :-( Huge disappointment.
I'm using this Plugin with WP 3.5.2. It's the only one I've seen which is able to produce PDFs from all our posts. Other PDF-plugin ran into errors serveral times.
Unfortunatly some of the settings won't apply, i.e. disable of the delete text function or disabeling the print oder email-button. Moreover our Logo is not included in the PDF-File an some text rendering at the end of the page isn't correct at all.
Wasn't happy to find the google ads after using the dialog to print. I had to disable this plug-in and find another, as I can't have a client's site providing 3rd party advertising. Would have liked a warning before installing.
