Beware of installing this plugin. It was totally useful with my website (texts within the Enfold theme are not translated) and after uninstalling has messed my links. If you need a multi-language website just create a multiple wp installation, it's easier and safer.
It was a lot of work set it up to work with woocommerce and unfortunately I never managed to get this combination working properly.
Woocommerce shows abnormal (buggy) behaviour after installing this translation plugin.
Even though there is a plugin available that claims to make it work with woocommerce, unfortunately it only provides false hope at the momement because it hasn't been updated for months, which is why it's not compatible with the current WP version.
I noticed straight away that the following things from woocommerce are different after installing this plugin:
The "Proceed to checkout" button from the basket doesn't take you anywhere, it now only refreshes the basket when you click on it.
The setting: "Shop Page Display: Products" suddenly shows no products, forcing you to show categories instead.
"Add to cart behaviour: Redirect to the cart page after successful addition" is broken, customers are confronted with a white page instead after installing this translation plugin.
I've tried some fixes I've found after searching on the web, but some of these "fixes" that were supposed to work according to positive replies in the blogs that provided these fixes actually killed the entire site, and forced me to restore from backup or they did absolutely nothing or involved actually editing the theme.
Even though there is a Woocommerce Polylang Integration plugin made by someone else, the developers of Polylang should consider making their plugin compatible with Woocommerce instead of relying on that other guy.
It's fine to charge money for this extra functionality, seen the fact right no serious competitor for wpml in this area exists and thus people are forced to pay their price to have a working multilingual WP webstore and that's in my opinion an unhealthy situation.
It works for websites as long as you don't want to sell anything with woocommerce, and I think woocommerce is a big deal for many WP users, so that's what motivates me to rate this plugin momentarily 2/5.
Right now I look at this free translation plugin as cute and I think it has the potential to become something serious!
When I activate this plugin, all my settings go back to default. I loose my logo, footer, font setting and so on. It is so annoying!
How do I activate this plugin without loosing my settings and the job I've done?
Thank you for your support.
It is buggy, for instance i set the languages, create menus etc.
Widget wont display (with language chooser), and also not displaying as menu item.
As a primary language, Bengali is one of the top 10 languages that ranks even before Russian, Japanese, and German. But I am not sure why this plugin is totally so ignorant about this language?
