There are only two podcast tools you really need: auphonic & podlove :-)
I use podlove since fall 2013 in a production environment, it has never failed so far. Great features so far, great improvements coming each week. I suppose I only use a small portion of available features, but those are: auphonic, contributors, templates, audio only. Not yet in use: tracking, chapter marks.
Thanks for this great plugin!
One small plug-in for WordPress, but a giant leap for podcasters! This plugin provided me with the easy-to-use publishing workflow that helped me start my podcast in the first place :-)
Also: Helpful community, engaged developers, constant feature additions and bug-fixed and open development: https://github.com/podlove/podlove-publisher#podlove-podcast-publisher
So viele nützliche, zeitsparende Funktionen. Vor allem das Contributor Modul hilft uns.
Works great. Using it since months in productive environment ().
Every new release improved an already great plugin.
The Podlove Publisher is such a great timesaver, if you want to publish a podcast. I have no idea how i could publish my little podcast without it.
The auphonic integration makes this very(!) powerful. Conclusion: if you plan to start a new podcast you relly should invest the time to learn how to setup this awesome tool!!
Unterstützt den Podcaster-Workflow ideal. Ständig neue sinnvolle Features, beste Integration in die Prozesskette, extrem responsiver Support. Nur selber machen ist besser! ;o)
I was using a proprietary Podcasting Plugin before this one, but they dropped support for newer WP versions. Now with the open source Podlove I feel a lot safer for the future. This plugin also is still under heavy development, and new features like the contributors lists are really awesome! With individual Flattr buttons for all people involved in an episode, the involvement increases and the podcast gets better. Thanks, Eric and Tim!
Podlove Publisher is a refreshingly new approach to podcast integration in WordPress. Strong support for metadata, integration with services like Auphonic for automated audio processing, flexible templates and contributor listings are just a few of many features this plugin provides.
I wish I could give this plugin a higher rating. However, there is no documentation to accompany it, so you have to spend hours and hours trying to get the plugin set up. Unfortunately, you won't find very much help from the developers or other people out there. All of the support seems to be conducted in German, which is fine if you speak German fluently enough to understand technical language. Even with my rudimentary German skills and a trusty translation package at my side, I wasn't able to find simple answers to simple questions.
For instance, if you have your WP media files set up to be stored by month and date, like most people, the plugin will not be able to handle your media slugs. One part of the program will translate your slugs using dashes while the other part will output the slugs using slashes. That means, your media files will work fine for your main page, but will get messed up in RSS. That is big trouble for podcasters.
Of course, all of those bugs could probably be worked out easily by the developers. But, they don't seem to be too interested in being helpful. And, again, all of the forum activity and answers that do exist are not understandable to the lay person that doesn't speak German.
Oh, well. I am hopeful they will get their act together. It looked like a great idea until I tried to use it.
Stetig in Entwicklung und mittlerweile vielen anderen weit voraus.
